Children Of The Cosmos

We are children of the cosmos- you and I.
Daydreaming of galaxies full of stars and planets.
Streams of moon dust swirl around us,
picking us up from the Earth and
taking us upward into the
clear Northern sky.
Such a romantic notion, isn't it- that
we find ourselves ever so often
lost within our imaginings?
Charting our course for an escape
from reality; even if just for a little while.
Oh, how I love it and hate it all at once.
I love when the journey begins and I
hate when it ends and we, once again,
find ourselves returning to the
materiality of the world we know-
the universe in which we were born
and, according to some, are
forever meant to remain.
