Into The Past

I find myself walking blindly towards
an unknown place I seem to remember
from a forgotten dream- or, perhaps,
a dream within a dream.

Memories came crashing in my mind
like massive tidal waves in the ocean.
Familiarity had been found within
a temporary moment of confusion.

It seemed so long ago that I was
last here- everything has changed.
A house that was once so full of life
is now slowly decaying with
the dead memories of the past.

For a brief moment, I found my soul
being lured back into the past-
when a confession of hatred
came pouring out and was
transformed into one of love and longing.

Your ghost haunts this old
mansion of yesterday.

I can feel your soul standing beside me
as I came back to the present and
made my way out the door.
