Third POV
Today was the day, game day against Kaijo High School. And, against a member of the Generation of Miracles. Seirin had arrived at the school bright and early that morning, entering the very large campus with multiple building surrounding the team.
"Wow, the place is huge! You can really see the difference when a school prioritizes athletics," Hyuga commented as the group stopped to take in their surroundings.
"Ain't that the truth," (Y/N) agreed as well.
She couldn't help but take in the view before her. This school had everything. There were track fields, different gyms for certain sports, it was basically an athletic heaven.
Before long, both she and Kuroko turned their attention towards the one who was probably the most excited to go up against Kaijo's own Ryota Kise. However, Kagami's attitude certainly didn't show it. In fact, the red head just walked with a harsh glare on his face. His eyes were bloodshot, and looking a little crazy too.
"Hey, Kagami. You look even meaner than you usually do this time of morning," Kuroko commented bluntly.
"Shut your face," the red head retorted in a grumbly voice.
(Y/N) giggled slightly as she walked out in front of Kagami, back trotting as she had a guess as to why he had been so tired that morning. Even though they had just reunited not even a week ago, the tall girl knew Kagami was still the same as he was when they were kids.
"What, did you not go to bed all because of your excitement?" She asked him before moving back to walking side by side with the boys.
Kagami, however, didn't answer right away. Because he knew she was right. Geez, even though they hadn't seen each for years, the girl could still read him like a children's book. The tiger couldn't help but to blush slightly at it in embarrassment.
"Maybe..." Kagami admitted while pinching the bridge of his nose to try and wake himself up a little bit.
Kuroko and (Y/N) simply looked to each other before turning their attention back to the hopeless first year.
"You're like a kid going on a field trip," the phantom said first.
"Yep, sounds about right," the triple threat basketball player commented as well in a very innocent and happy voice.
And that only ticked the tiger off even more. His crankiness could be quite a scary thing to witness first thing in the morning.
"What'd you say?" He growled.
"Hey, guys!"
But before Kagami could brawl with Kuroko, the same cheery voice that the team had heard the day before, called out to them as footsteps were heard approaching the group as well. Turning towards the voice, Seirin caught sight of the blonde model running towards in a black sleeveless shirt and orange shorts with an excited smile on his face.
"Kise!" Kagami yelled out to him.
Oh, he wanted to get even with this pretty boy. Kagami was going to make sure he showed Kise exactly what he was made of when it came to basketball.
"It's a big school, so I've come to escort you," the model told the team.
"Thanks a lot," Riko smiled as well.
Though, even in the back of her mind, she had seen how her cousin had reacted to Kise the other day. So, like the protective mama bear that she was, Riko glanced back at (Y/N) to make sure she was going alright.
Fortunately, the tall girl didn't seemed to have tensed up like she did yesterday. Instead, (Y/N) just kept her place by Kuroko, a calm expression on her face.
