Third POV
With the red and black team all reunited, it was time to head back to Kagami's apartment so that they could go over just what they had heard about their next opponents. Of course, the triple threat had been there and witnessed it with Alex, but she didn't know a crucial detail that made this even more terrifying. It made it even clearer why Yosen had made it this far in both the Winter Cup and the Summer Inter-High.
Sitting down in the tiger's living room in front of his large TV, the entirety of Seirin along with Nijimura watched not one game where the white and light pink team had defeated an opponent without letting them gain a single point, but two. Yosen had defeated two frickin' teams with their large amount of points while the others had nothing but zero. The team of giants didn't even let their opponents get a chance to touch the ball. At least, that's what it felt like.
Seirin was left completely speechless, it felt like they hadn't even been watching high schoolers for a moment. There was a good five minutes of the whole group just staring at the TV screen with their jaws almost seeming like they'd hit the ground any second. The only sound was that of the whistle that had ended the game on the DVD that they had all been watching.
"That game was ten kinds of insane," Izuki was the first to break the silence.
"For a second, I forgot that bloodbath was basketball," Koganei found his own words as well, paling as every second passed where he had nothing on his mind other than what he had just witnessed.
Ten kinds of insane didn't seem like the right number to describe the fact that Yosen had so much power behind them where they could make sure thst another team didn't have any chance in making a single point. All of those baskets were either blocked or the ball was stolen with such ease that it almost looked to be too easy for the team of giants. In fact, that was probably the case for them since none of their starters looked to be having any sort of issues against anyone. It was like they were adults playing against children, people who didn't know basketball like they did.
"Maybe I'd believe that score if that was played in a local match against a poorly trained school, but this was two national tournament games in a row," the second year punster pointed out as well.
Like, the fact that this was already close to the quarterfinals and Yosen was already showing that much power without looking like they weren't even trying all that much was just crazy. It should've been impossible. But at the same time, it was quite the effective way for securing all the wins that they had earned so far.
"Their strategy is the antithesis of Touou's signature aggressive play style. They guard every single point they can," Kiyoshi voiced the difference, more like the complete opposite of Yosen's play style versus what Seirin had already witnessed from the black and maroon team.
They were the ones that came out of the gate as aggressive as ever, Yosen was the one that put their defense out there right away to make sure that no points are ever scored on them. And they had the perfect kind of guy to act as the main guardian of the net.
