Third POV

Evening had finally approached, drawing the game between the most offensive team and the most defensive team ever so closer. Right at the moment, (Y/N) was driving her car along with Kuroko being her trusted passenger in order to go pick up Kagami from his place. Nijimura wasn't with them this time for...other reasons that will be addressed later.

It was almost like a normal car ride, the triple threat had some 80s tunes playing to fill the silence, but there was something not quite right. The vibes weren't lining up like they normally would.

There might've been music playing in the car, but the car ride was still oddly quiet. This is coming from someone who was the definition of quiet and sneaky since he could get away with being the most quiet to the point where he seemed like a phantom. The (h/c) haired girl driving was the exact opposite of that, she was someone everyone always noticed, someone that everyone was so drawn to. But right now, she was silent, a look of indifference and deep thought on her face as she ran her hand through her long, downed locks every so often, like she was in some sort of daze.

It was odd for someone like her. When the triple threat went silent, it usually meant that there was something on her mind.

"Is everything okay, (Y/N)? You're kind of quiet," Kuroko's voice snapped the tall girl out of her deep state of thought, prompting her to blink a couple of times before turning back toward her light blue haired friend.

Then she saw the growing concern in his eyes. Well, crappola, she didn't mean to do that. Not during a time when Seirin had such a big game that evening. But, she also knew, she knew with everything in her heart that Kuroko wasn't going to believe her if she said she was fine. The girl would be babbling and being her normal giggly self if nothing was wrong, not being as quiet as a mouse.

But this was also the light blue haired phantom here, the one who always told her that he was here to lend an ear for her if she needed. 'Cause we all know that ya girl likes to keep things to herself when she wanted to. But she wanted to keep her promise that she made to him.

Turning back toward the road, Kuroko watched as she twiddled with her fingers a little on the steering wheel, her eyes dropping towards them before she scrunched her nose up. The phantom stayed quiet as she gathered her thoughts altogether.

"Kinda. I've just been thinking about...Taiga and Tatsuya, I guess," she answered, remembering back to that feeling she had when she had heard Tatsuya mention Kagami.

She could pick up on that heatedness in his voice. It wasn't hatred, but it felt like that. It wasn't the same as it was when they were all younger, which she wished it was. But, you can't act like kids forever. Kids don't stay kids forever. She might've just seen glimpses of it, and she knew no one was giving her an ultimatum, but at the same time, it sure as hell felt that way.
