Third POV
The time to battle had come, the Dark Horse Team that had taken the whole tournament by surprise with their powerful offensive play style versus the team known as the Shield of Aegis, the defensive weapon used by the King of Gods, himself. The most offensive team going up against the strongest defensive of the Winter Cup. Now it was time for both sides to enter the battlefield.
Seirin decided to be the first ones to do so. As the black and red team started walking out towards the court, the amount of cameras from both paparazzi and TV from all the reporters that were lined up along the sides of where the teams were coming out from was a bit overwhelming to some. Koganei covered his eyes with his hands since he wasn't so used to all the flashing and blinding lights. But the rising volume in cheers and applause coming from the stands had a very different vibe to it altogether.
"Look! They're coming out!"
"They've been around for two years and they're already making headlines!"
"That's Seirin High for ya!"
This was completely different than from when Seirin had gone up against Touou. Those cheers and words of encouragement that were out of pity towards the red and black team were no more. People were now recognizing them for their strength and what they could really do when they were going at full speed. Not to mention, the way they presented and carried themselves was just burning with confidence. Kagami and Kiyoshi were stretching their arms and shoulders, Hyuga was taking the lead of the team like a confident captain should, and Kuroko was rolling his sleeves up to reveal his black wrist bands.
Definitely made for quite the impression, that was for sure.
"Look at them struttin' out like they own the place," Aneko commented proudly as she grinned while watching the red and black team make their way over to their respective side of the court.
She was really proud of how far they had all come over the course of the two years that they had been a team. That was rare in the world of sports, to have just enough for a starting lineup the beginning year and not make it too far was what typically became of new teams. They'd be forgotten by the world of basketball altogether. But not Seirin High, they had made the biggest comeback that any new team could ever make. And Aneko couldn't have been more proud of them all.
Though, her proudness was soon interrupted when she heard the roars of the crowds erupt in volume once more, prompting her to lose her grin as she spotted movement coming from the other side of the court.
"Holy shit, Kitty," Kou's shocked tone followed by his hand on her shoulder drew her attention down to the group of very tall teenagers making their own powerful appearance.
"There they are. Following their record breaking shutouts in the second and third games..."
"It's the Shield of Aegis, Yosen High!"
