Third POV

"You're playing against Taiga and (Y/N) tomorrow, right?"Alex started out the conversation with her black haired apprentice once the two of them had made it outside to a much quieter place in order to chat.

It was dark out at this point, the temperature now showing that winter had definitely arrived in Tokyo. It was also describing the atmosphere a little bit between the two of them. Tatsuya was still happy to see the blonde woman, don't get him wrong, but she could unconsciously feel that his coolness was feeling a little colder than it normally would. But hey, that's also how he's always been too, so maybe it was nothing.

"Yeah, looks like it. Have you had a chance to catch up?" The emo boy inquired, since it had only been a couple of days since Alex had arrived in the country.

"Yeah, saw them both right after I landed. In fact, I'm teaching Taiga a little something I didn't teach him during his time in the U.S." the woman then grinned as she gave her other apprentice an inside as to what she and Kagami had been up to.

Hearing that certainly intrigued Tatsuya as his visible eye widened slightly for a second before narrowing.

"Really? Interesting," he hummed with a bit of curiosity in his voice.

Guess he shouldn't have been surprised, the black haired boy had received the same sort of training from Alex before he had returned to Japan, after all. She had taught him some things that she might not have shown to Kagami. But the fact that she had told him that she had taught the tiger something new all of a sudden to be used against future opponents, that's what caught the boy's interest.

Alex didn't seem to notice the sudden change in Tatsuya at first, still keeping the grin on her face as a light and slightly chilled breeze blew past them a little bit. She wanted to make it clear that she wasn't trying to act like she was siding with one of her apprentices over the other.

"Don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean I'm picking favorites all of a sudden, okay? I'm gonna be cheering for the both of you tomorrow," the blonde woman assured the black haired boy that she wasn't picking favorites just like that.

She had given her wisdom to Tatsuya back before he came back that he used to become the powerful player that he was now, it seemed only fair that she'd do the same with Kagami. Alex felt it was only right that she passed down a move that she hadn't been able to teach him yet so that it could be a fair playing ground when the two of them finally did come to face off. And now that time has come.

Although, that didn't mean it was going to be this game against two old friends that was for shits and giggles like how the blonde woman was thinking. Unbeknownst to her in the moment, Alex had yet to notice the cold glare that had appeared on Tatsuya's face. The more he heard her speaking as if he were still a little kid playing on the courts of LA, the more irritated he was getting.
