Gargoyles VS Predator

Chapter Eight - Cornered Prey

As Elisa and Johns were face to face with the Predator, the two NYPD Detectives drew their pistols. The Predator growled as he readied to attack. During the intense state down, Johns spoke to Elisa.

David: Whatever happens, we take down this son of a bitch.

Elisa nods as she calms her nerves. She tightly gripped her pistol and the Predator growls once more. The Predator then readied his Wristblades and moved to attack. Elisa and Johns began to fire their pistols at the Predator, but their bullets bounce off the Predator's armor. 

David: Shit! Bastard's wearing body armor! 

Elisa: Go for the arms and legs! They're not covered!

With that, Elisa and Johns began to fire on the arms and legs of the Predator. Though they were able to graze him, the Predator was too fast for them. When the Predator closed in on the two detectives, the Predator knocks Elisa back and moved in on Johns. Johns attempts to fire at the Predator, but the Predator promptly disarms Johns and grabs him by throat. As the Predator moves to finish Johns off, the Predator hesitates. 

David: What are you waiting for?! Finish it, you ugly bastard!

As the Predator stares at Johns, he uses his bio-mask to scan Johns. In the scans, he saw a cancerous growth in Johns. Seeing that Johns was dying from cancer, the Predator drops Johns and moves towards Elisa. 

David: Shit....

David then begins to cough blood as the Predator moves towards Elisa. Seeing that Elisa was in danger, Johns crawls to his pistol and reloads it. 

David: Smile you son of a bitch!

Without hesitation, David fires his pistol at the Predator, hitting him in the arm. The Predator screams in pain as he lunges at Johns and impales him with his Wristblades. As Johns was fatally wounded by the Predator, Elisa reaches for her gun and shoots at the Predator. As she landed several good shots on the Predator, the Predator lunges at her and begins to attack her with his bare hands. Elisa attempts to fight him off, but the Predator proves too strong for her. As Elisa was thrown against a wall, she looked to see the Predator walking towards her. For the first time in her life, she felt fear. Elisa tried to crawl away, but the Predator grabbed her by the throat. As fear gripped her, all Elisa could do was scream. Before the Predator could kill Elisa, Goliath and the rest of the Manhattan Clan swooped in and attacked the Predator.

Goliath: Unhand her, monster!

As the Predator prepared for battle, Hudson looked upon the creature with shock in his eyes. 

Hudson: You truly are of the same Clan of Hunters.....

Brooklyn: You're going down!

As the Manhattan Clan attacked the Predator, Elisa rushed over to the wounded Johns. 

Elisa: You're going to be alright, Captain! 

David: Don't....don't bother, Marza. I know a dead man when I see it. Ironic. I....I thought it would be the cancer that would kill me.....

Elisa began to tear up as the man she admired was dying. Johns glanced over to see the Gargoyles fighting the Predator. 

David: Well I'll be damned. Gargoyles and aliens.....hell of a sight....

Elisa: I'm...I'm sorry, Captain. 

David: Don't be. I...I knew what I signed up for. Promise me....that you'll finish this case. 

Elisa: I...I promise....

Johns smiled as he lets out one last chuckle. After that, he succumbed to his wounds. Not too long after Johns died, Elisa passed out from the wounds she sustained from the Predator. Meanwhile, the Predator held his own against the Gargoyles. 

Broadway: This guy sure is tough!

Hudson: Do not underestimate this Hunter! He is deadly much like the one I fought!

Lexington: What are we going to do?!

Goliath: We put an end to his reign of terror!

Bronx then charges at the Predator and bites into his arm. The Predator howls in pain as he manages to fight Bronx off. The Predator soon finds himself locked in a fierce fight against the Gargoyles. Despite his wounds, the Predator was able to hold his own against the Gargoyles. For Hudson, it was as if he was fighting the Predator he faced all those centuries ago. As the Gargoyles continued to fight against the Predator, Hudson looked to the sky to see the Sun beginning to rise. 

Hudson: The Sun is rising! 

As Hudson said this, sirens were heard nearby. Sensing the tide was about to return, the Predator chose to retreat. Despite wanting to chase after the Predator, Goliath rushed to the unconscious Elisa. 

Goliath: Elisa! Can you hear me?!

Hudson: Goliath! We must head back to the Tower!

Goliath: I will not leave her!

Hudson: She lives, lad. We must leave. 

Left with no other choice, Goliath joined the rest of the Manhattan Clan in retreating back to the Clock Tower at the 23rd Precinct. As the Gargoyles retreated, an ambulance arrived. Led by Adeline, they rushed to Elisa and Johns. Elisa was in an out of consciousness as she was loaded onto the ambulance and taken to the hospital. As the ambulance began transporting Elisa to the hospital, she passed out once more. In that moment, the Gargoyles of the Manhattan Clan fought against the Predator in a fierce battle. In that battle, David Johns was killed in the line of duty while Elisa was seriously injured. As the Gargoyles made their way to the Clock Tower, the Sun rose and they turned to stone. But the battle was far from over.
