[M/N] smiled a bit as he walked beside his friend, the one and only Zhongli of the Wangshu funeral parlor. It was a bit of Liyue Harbor and heading towards the safest area of Jueyun Karst. Away from any Fatui men and creatures, just the two of them drinking tea. They talk about their political views, food, new things they brought home from stands or even work."How has the domestic marriage life been between the two of you?" Zhongli asked, amber eyes flickering to [M/N] who was pouring tea into the two green cups that Zhongli brought. The nicest pair from his full set at home. "I hope he's treating you well since last time." where Zhongli had "nicely" corrected Childe's behavior.
"Oh? Everything has been going fine, Ajax still comes home grouchy sometimes but we don't argue. Really, I make him a bath, set down my designs and then finish cooking whatever we have for dinner." [M/N] said as he placed the teapot down carefully and offered one of the green cups to Zhongli. "Thank you for talking to him though, I hate fighting him."
"Why of course, spouses shouldn't fight each other over silly little things." Zhongli mummers before sipping the freshly brewed tea with a sigh. "Though, I am happy that you two resolved the problem."Zhongli smiles as the other smiles. Zhongli would've done more if Childe needed to "figure out" his in corrections.
"Me too. Anyway, how has work been? I've heard that not a lot of people had passed lately." [M/N] had at least three orders for funeral clothes. One for the body, the body's wife, and their mistress. A mess that [M/N] did not want to open at all.
"It pays...the rent." Hu tao had been annoying him all week with her pranks and going up to people and asking if they want a deal on a coffin or two. "I can not take Hu tao's pranking, it is annoying me and scaring off people who want" to deal with the parlor." Zhongli sighs as he lifts the cup up to his lips for another sip.
"Oh hush now, you don't mean that," [M/N] playfully swats at his friend with a smile. "Besides, isn't she the youngest owner of the parlor? It must be hard to give up your young adulthood and basically your childhood to own that place. Just give her more of a chance." Zhongli looked to him as [M/N] takes a large sip of his tea before setting it down. He merely smiles at Zhongli back, "I promise you, she's just adjusting and not to mention you accepted the job to work under her as well."
"I wanted some peace and quiet," Zhongli said and [M/N] chuckled a bit.
"And look where it brought you." [M/N] grins and Zhongli sighs to himself but a smile on his lips. He was right, Zhongli had no real reason to leave just yet.
Not for what he has a plan in a couple of weeks.
" Anyway, Hu Tao is just..different, a good different but I rather have her than some stiffy old guy who's just monotone durning the whole event." [M/N] said as the archon nods his head in agreement. Stiffy people were just so boring to work with, hu tao does do her job, making sure the loved member and their family is taken care of.
"I can agree there, but if her pranks were to stop, maybe I can actually catch up on work." Zhongli said as he opened the basket, pulling out the carefully wrapped grilled fish for them to eat and enjoy. He rather eat some Bamboo soup, though there wasn't enough time. This would just work, he offered one to [M/N] and the designer grabbed it. Their hands touched for a moment and [M/N] pulled his back with the fish, opening it and sighs as the smell hits him.
"They still smell fresh, thank you." He said, and Zhongli smiled as he held the other one. He ignored the tingle going down his spine and his cheeks turning a tad pink from it.
It felt good, it always did.
Zhongli liked [M/N], he did, but he also liked Slowly cooked Bamboo soup, he liked his job at the funeral parlor, he liked his adept and he liked shiny new things. Of course, he did, he liked those. Though he felt like [M/N] deserved more, Zhongli loved his land and all of his friends that had passed, he loved Guizhong and he loved tea in the early mornings.
They all had the same thing in common with the ordinary designer, [M/N] chatted about fabrics, flowers, designs and people like Guizhong did. [M/N] was up for anything, especially about tea, his favorite being uncommon tea found in Snezhnaya, and [M/N] has the same friends with Zhongli.
It wasn't much, just Childe ([M/N]'s husband), Hu tao (Zhongli's boss), and others around Liyue Harbor. Well, them and the cute bunny that [M/N] had, Zhongli loved how cute it was.
Zhongli is in Love with [M/N], he was so sure of it. He was also aware of how he could treat [M/N] better than Childe.
Be a better friend, a husband, a partner.
Though he would remain quiet, he had to. No matter how he longed for the designer, Zhongli needed to respect the law of marriage.
"It's so good." [M/N] chews, his cheek had some crumbs and Zhongli chuckles and wiped them off with his thumb before smiling.
"You're a messy eater." Zhongli commented and [M/N] laughs before feeling movement in his bag, he opened it and sighs. "Is it Kuai?"
"No, this Hydro Slime that's been stalking me, literally won't leave me alone. So I stuffed him in my bag." [M/N] said as he pulled the Slime out and gently placed him on the grass, it purred as he began moving around and looking at everything. Zhongli stared at it, a bit perplexed before shaking his head.
It was a baby after all, no harm.
Perhaps it also took a liking to [M/N], a bit peeved since it was closer to [M/N], literally.
