08: A day in a Slime

Kuai was the only pet that [M/N] had, he had never raised a Slime before. The cute little thing that followed [M/N] and Ajax around their home. It makes little "Plats" on the floor as it hopped behind him. When [M/N] walked around, either cleaning or just thinking of patterns ideas, the cute Hydro Slime would hop behind him, causing [M/N] to slip a bit every time he turned around to walk back. Luckily it happened a few times, though [M/N] never heard the end of it, especially with his husband laughing at him from behind. Enjoying the sight of his fallen husband before complaining loudly that his socks were wet when he stepped into a puddle.

That caused [M/N] laugh, forgetting why he was pissed.

Now, it was a hurried morning, both Ajax and [M/N] were in a hurry since they both were late for their work. They scrambled around their living room and kitchen, [M/N] shoving things in his bag as Ajax stumbles around as he looked for his boots. 

"Babe I can't find my-"

"Here!" 

[M/N] throws Ajax's bow at him and Ajax caught it, holding it as he opened the door. The Hydro, now officially named Sweetie, watched as [M/N] hands Ajax his blanket of lunch. "Have a good day." He said as Ajax pecks [M/N]'s head as [M/N] takes his bag. Forgetting his own lunch on the table as he shuts the door behind them.

Sweetie slides off the counter, hurrying to the door as he peeks out the tiny little bunny door that the door had. He sees them part ways and [M/N] walking the other way, hurrying past people.

That would do no good, he would surely starve if he did not eat his lunch blanket. Sweetie looked at the lunch then to the figure of [M/N] walking away. He huffed and pulled away from the door, after a few attempts, he managed to have the lunch in him as he began hoping out the bunny door.

He slips into the stone street, causing people to walk over him and went on about their day. Sweetie shakes off the shaking before hoping in the direction of where [M/N] had gone, keeping a decent pace before turning the corner.  He moved before stopping when people were crowded around a building. Sweetie huffed before trying to sneak in between legs till a girl steps in front of him, she quickly placed meals in people's hands with a hum escaping her lips. Though, before she could enter the kitchen, she noticed slime on the floor. A baby one, but she just finished the rest of her batch. "You would do!" She grins, sparkles in her eyes as Sweetie felt his own sweat, if it was possible, go down his head. She summons her polearm and smashed it a few inches away from his face.

Sweetie made a squeal-like sound before rushing off, taking larger hops as he heard the girl call for him to call back.

"My food is escaping!"

Sweetie kept moving, dodging any polearm stabs from above, almost nicking him a few times as he hurried. [M/N]'s office should be around, but the girl was just so crazy to eat him. 

"Xiangling just what are you doing?" Chongyun said as he noticed his friend trying to stab something, "Are you trying to attack a ghost? Since there is literally nothing there." He asked, as he licked at his blue treat. 

"Wha? You don't see my new ingredient trying to run away from me?" She asked. She missed again when she looked at him but stops when Xingqiu steps in front of her. The Slime shakes from behind his legs as she pouts, " Xingqiu-" he lightly taps her head with his book as Chongyun comes down from the stairs and lands beside them, still enjoying his treat.

"Stop it at once, have you not notice the lunch the slime has?" The Guhua second born said as he held his book against his chest. His golden eyes staring down at the slime, putting the book under his arm before picking the animal up.

"Oh? I didn't see that, look there's a name there." She unsummons her weapon as Xingqiu peeks at the name. "Oh, it's for Sir [M/N]."

"The guy who makes all the clothes for your clan?" Chongyun said as he bites down on the treat with a hum. 

"Correct, this must be his pet slime." Xingqiu said as he looked over the shaking Slime. "Now, Now, Xiangling isn't going to eat you." Xingqiu assured the small slime as he gently pets the head of it. Sweetie slowly stops his shivering and leans into his hand with soft purrs escaping from it. He smiled and looked at the two, "Now, we should probably take him to the tailor shop, it isn't too far from her-" There was a cry from a hawk as it swooped down and grasped the slime within its claws, probably having taken the slime as food than an actual creature that could kill the hawk. 

The three were stunned as they see the Hawk fly away with the packed lunch and the Hydro slime.

"Well...at least Xiangling didn't eat it," Chongyun said as he finished his treat.

[M/N] stared at the three friends with a confused expression as Sweetie chewed on a Hawk feather. Chongyun held him as Xingqiu leans against him, Hawk feathers in his hair and holding a cloth that would hold [M/N]'s lunch, the same one he made for him and Ajax. Xiangling held a freshly cooked Crystal Shirmp. They all looked tired minus Sweetie who looked bigger, maybe he ate a bird.

"Oh, did Sweetie get out again? Did he cause you three trouble?" [M/N] asked as he gently takes the Slime, placing him on his shoulder causing the Hydro creature to pure.

"More like...we caused trouble for him.." Xiangling giggles tiredly as [M/N] takes the lunch as his stomach growls.

"Do you want me to pay you-"

"No, just enjoy...please." She sighs as [M/N] takes the cloth from Xingqiu, still very confused to what had happened to all three and Sweetie.
