You let your apartment door slam behind you as your back slid down the door. Sitting on the ground, basically in the fetal position, you release all the emotions you held in on your way home.

You hadn't meant to act the way you did, your emotions just overwhelmed you. Kakashi didn't do anything wrong, but he was at the receiving end of all your pent up feelings.

After sulking for another minute, you finally get up and slowly shuffle your way to the bathroom. While you cried a little in the shower, a handsome white haired ninja stood at your apartment door.

Even though it was late, Kakashi wanted to come and apologize. The way he talked about Itachi was out of line, and the pain in your eyes told him there was more bothering you than just a crush on your superior.

He could hear the sound of running water from your apartment. Starting to pace a little, he was trying to piece together the best apology he could muster. He was so deep in his thoughts, he didn't notice the sound of running water become quiet.

Satisfied with what he came up with, he raised his fist to knock on your door. Before his fist could make contact, he heard a loud, high pitched scream come from inside your apartment.

Without hesitation, Kakashi grabbed the doorknob and was surprised to see it was unlocked. What if someone was waiting inside your apartment to attack you? He wasted no time rushing inside, looking around to find you. "Y/n!" He yelled out, desperately.

You were there, in the middle of the small hallway that led from the bathroom to your bedroom, wrapped in a towel and crying on the floor. You held a tight grip on both sides of your head. Kakashi could tell you were in extreme pain, but from what?

"Y/n, it's me, Kakashi. What happened?" He sat beside you, pulling you into a hug in hopes you would calm down. You whimpered, holding back screams of pain.

"Make it stop! Make it stop!" You cried, your knuckles turning white against your temples. Kakashi cradled you in his lap, "Okay I'll make it stop. Breathe for me, please y/n."

One of your really bad headaches came back, only this time it was much worse than before. It started with a screeching noise in your head, then the lights in the room became completely distorted. As you fell to the ground screaming, flashes of different images flew through your mind. Given the pain you were experiencing, you didn't have time to process what you saw.

After a good 5 minutes, your body finally relaxed. Kakashi held onto you as you passed out from the pain, listening to your breathing to make sure you were all right. What the hell was that? He had no idea where this kind of attack could've come from, he became incredibly concerned for you.

Cradling you in his arms, he settled you into your bed, still wrapped in a towel. He pulled the blankets up over you and fluffed your pillow. A part of him told him he should leave, that it wasn't decent of him to be here watching a half naked girl sleep. But the rest of him wouldn't budge, feeling the intense need to take care of you.

After a quick walk through of you apartment, double checking there were no intruders, he locked your doors and set a glass of water next to your bed. He settled on your couch, leaving your bedroom door open so he could look over and check on you occasionally.

You were holding back way more than he imagined. He wanted to be the one to help you, but the twinge in his gut reminded him that it wasn't his place. You wanted Itachi, you liked Itachi. And even though he was the one who trained the Uchiha man, Kakashi would never compare to the legendary Itachi Uchiha.

Kakashi stayed up most of the night, checking up on you and wrestling the thoughts in his mind. It was during the wee hours of the morning, when the sun's glare first broke the night sky, did Kakashi finally rest his eyes for a little sleep.

His sleep didn't last long. A splash of water jolted Kakashi out of his sleep. "Wh-what the hell?" He stammered as he got up from the couch soaking wet.

"What the hell is right! Why are you sleeping in my apartment? Since when did you even get here?" You we're completely terrified, not expecting to find a grown man sleeping on your couch. Last night, you remembered getting into the shower, but nothing after that except your strange dream.

"I came to apologize last night. What I said about Itachi was out of line, and I wanted to make sure you were doing okay. But then you screamed and I ran in to help you" he explained to you as he was rummaging your drawers for a towel.

I screamed? You thought, trying to piece together an important part of the night that your mind as completely forgotten.

As if it was a flashback, you remembered the 'dream' you had. The screeching noise, the strange and blinding lights. But it was the images you saw that finally were able to settle in your mind. A fire, blood, a field of flowers, Itachi's smile, the dark figure's smile, the sound of a beating heart, your name being yelled from the distance...

Your breaths became choppy as you started to remember the visions you had. Kakashi noticed the sudden change in behavior and sat you down on the couch. Your eyes were wide as you said "I remember now. I remember...". Kakashi held you beside him, trying to figure out what all of this way. Anxiety? A panic attack? If he could figure out the cause of the problem, he'd be able to treat you better.

"Y/n" he cautiously said, "what happened to you last night?"

You contemplated about telling him, knowing you could sound crazy. But no good excuse was coming to mind, so you opted for the truth.

"I've been having these weird headaches and nightmares. Someone talks to me, I don't know who, but they keep telling me to 'remember' and to 'save him'. Last night, there were visions this time. It showed me different things." Your breath hitched, signaling that you weren't ready to talk about what you saw.

"It's okay if you can't tell me. I'm just happy that you're okay." An idea came into Kakashi's mind.

"Eat some breakfast and then get changed. We're going on a little outing today."

You stared at him, puzzled. "We're not training today?"

"You've mostly been doing training out at the training grounds right? Little boring to keep doing the same thing every day, isn't it? Consider this training too, but better." He grinned, hoping you'll just go along with what he's suggesting.

You enjoyed the training, you knew you had to polish your skills to meet the Special Forces' standards. But it was getting a little boring and exhausting, doing the same thing over and over. With a sigh, you say "Fine."

With that, Kakashi clapped his hands together, pleased. He made his way to your fridge, grabbing eggs and bacon to cook.

"Who said you could help yourself?" You ask, standing with your hip out.

"I thought I'd take the liberty of making us breakfast, even though the host here so rudely dumped water on me today." He winked with his one visible eye, making you grin just a little.

"Well the host doesn't allow people to stay for free so get to cookin'" you laugh, already feeling much better than you were.

"Don't worry, I make a mean egg scramble" Kakashi chuckled, the whir of electricity rumbling from where he stood as he turned on the stove.

You guessed making you breakfast was the least he could do, considering how he managed to piss you off, break into your apartment, and saw you nearly naked all in one night.

The smells of breakfast filled your apartment as you got ready for the day. It was a delightful feeling, having someone making you breakfast, waiting for you to eat with them. It got lonely at times, living in this small apartment with nobody waiting for you to get home. This was a nice change, something you hoped you could get used to with someone special.

You smiled as you made your way to the kitchen.
