Meet the Squad

You woke up feeling really refreshed, the morning breeze kissing your check through your open window. Today was your first official day on Itachi's squad and as much as you were looking forward to getting familiar with the team, you were also extremely nervous.

This squad held the best of the best, the pride of Konoha village. You needed to be at the top of your game. First impressions are everything.

A soft knock alerts your attention as you finished getting dressed. Your Uchiha boyfriend had shown up with breakfast for you, knowing you would have some first day jitters. 

"What are you so nervous about? You earned your spot on this squad, be proud of your ability." Itachi reassured you as you nibbled at your breakfast. 

"Do they know about us?" You finally asked the question that bugged you the most. For the past month, you and Itachi have led a somewhat secret relationship; only Sakura knows for sure, but you assume his mom probably knows as well. Itachi had wanted to keep the relationship under wraps before he told his father, and so you could settle into the squad before they all knew who your boyfriend was. 

"Shisui does, but he's the only one. I trust him." Itachi gave a smile as he finished his breakfast and cleaned up your plate. "We'll tell the rest of the squad when you're ready."

"Okay, but what if I'm not cut out for the squad? Or once they find out, they'll assume I slept with you to get this position?" You fret, letting your brain take off to worry land. 

Soft lips meet your forehead. "Nonsense. They'll see your skill, don't doubt yourself." 

"Whatever you say, Captain." You give him a wink, getting butterflies from calling him that. He shakes his head, placing his two fingers on your forehead, right where his lips had been. 

"Come on, let's go."

Headquarters for the Special Forces was located underground, beneath the police force building. The two forces worked together, so it became a great disguise for the Special Forces. Apparently Itachi's father, Fugaku, was head of the police force, and the thought of running into him terrified you. 

But today, you had nothing to worry about because he was out as you and Itachi slipped towards the underground HQ. The elevator took you to the first level. As you exited the elevator, you gasped. You've never seen such a place as this. 

It was enormous, almost making you believe it was built by magic. The walls that circled around you were covered in staircases and doors, leading to offices or training rooms. Itachi ushered you to follow him, but your eyes remained in awe at your new base. 

He led you down a staircase, feeling like you were descending 4 flights of stairs. At the bottom of the last set of stairs, the door read "CROW", but there was no handle. Itachi gave you a smirk as you looked at the tall door, confused. 

"You ready?"

You nod and watch as Itachi puts his hand to the door, feeding a little chakra into it. It swings open to a large room. Training stations were set up all around, along with office desks and sitting areas. You notice about 4 heads turn to look at you as you followed Itachi to the seating area. 

Itachi gave a whistle as everyone migrated over to you, as if it was a signal. You notice Shisui, the one Itachi always talks about, and he gives you a huge, excited wave. You return his with a small one of your own, trying to not look chummy with the Vice Captain of your squad. 

Itachi cleared his throat, gathering the attention of the room. Having authority looks good on him. Hot even, you thought. 

"As of today, Squad Crow is now a 6 man team. This is our newest recruit, Y/n. I expect you to show her around and assist her with anything she needs as she grows accustomed to the squad." He stares intensely at the squad members. "Introduce yourselves."
