The Order

You felt as if you were inside of a dream, but instead of the vivid nightmarish dreams you've been having, this time it felt like you were floating through space. Everything felt weightless, free. It was a strangely comforting but confusing feeling. 

You wouldn't have realized it was a dream if it hadn't been for the wet dog kisses that woke you up. Akamaru was licking you to wake you up. What was even more confusing, was why Akamaru was here in the first place. 

As you rub your eyes and start to wake up, Kiba noticed you stirring and brought you a glass of water. You give him an uneasy look, noticing that this is out of the norm. 

"I know you're probably a little confused, but drink some water and I'll explain everything to you." Kiba reassures you. 

You slowly take the glass of water from him, Akamaru barks in approval. Studying your surroundings, you recognize your apartment. Everything was exactly how you left it before you and Itachi left to deal with Yahiko. 

Yahiko. You remember meeting his eyes before another head splitting headache. And you..passed out?

"Kiba, did I pass out or something?"

He moves a chair to sit in front of you. "Yeah. Shikamaru told me how you screamed before being knocked out cold. No one could figure out what caused it, so you were brought back here."

You take in the information Kiba was telling you, still not seeing the whole picture. 

"Alright, I guess that makes some sense. But where's Itachi? And no offense, but why are you here?" You question as you scratch Akamaru's head. "I mean, don't get me wrong, it's great to see you. I just..didn't expect it I guess?"

He chuckles. "No offense taken. Itachi and Shikamaru brought you back here, but Itachi was quickly called in to aid in the interrogation of the new guy. He gave Shikamaru orders to have someone watch over you until you woke up, so we all joined in to help." 

"We?"

"Me, Sakura, Hinata, and Choji. Everyone else was either out on a mission or aiding their clans with security for the village or helping in the investigation."

"There's so many of you for such a short time. Itachi always overreacts, I'm sorry you got dragged into this." You smile.

Kiba rubs the back of his neck. "Uh, y/n, it's been two days."

You freeze, studying the male's face to see if what he is saying is the whole truth. Two days? That didn't even possible. You couldn't understand how you lost so much time.

"H-how could I be passed out for two days?" Your voice breaks.

Kiba sighs. "No one could figure out. Sakura performed a medical exam and nothing was out of the ordinary. We couldn't get you to wake up no matter how hard we tried. But I'm glad you're awake now. I know a lot of people will be happy to see you up and at 'em." He grins, showing his canines. 

He slaps his thighs as he stands up. Kiba holds a hand out to you. "Let's take you to go see Sakura. Make sure everything is still okay."

You nod, handing him your hand. As you go to stand up, your legs buckle underneath you. It's been two days since they moved last so they were a bit weak. Kiba places your hand around his arm so you can use him as a crutch. Akamaru walks close to you on your other side for extra protection. 

The two of you make small talk as you manage to slowly walk toward the hospital. The village seemed quieter today, less hustle and bustle in the streets than normal. You observed your surroundings closely, noticing a few shinobi walking along the huge gate that surrounds the village.
