"Noona, Hyung," the young boy shivered. "Please don't go, I'm so scared."

"Beomgyu it's okay," Y/N smiled brightly at her younger brother. "We'll only be gone one night."

Choi Seungcheol and Choi Y/N were set to go on their first overnight mission away from home. The two were to pose as the younger siblings of a couple of the teenagers in the Daegu family.

Mr. Choi was overseas attending to some business and had said that it was about time Beomgyu get over his fear of being alone. He had never gone a night staying by himself in the section of the home the three siblings resided in.

The house the Choi's grew up in had three sections. The children's section, Mr. Choi's section, and the business section. There was no common area where the children and the father were able to spend time together. In fact, none of the children had even been in Mr. Choi's part of the house. The only time spent together was in the business section of the house.

The trio often had brainstorming sessions on what their father's part of the home was like.

The brothers agreed that it was probably a mess of paperwork, clothing, and loose food wrappers.

Y/N on the other hand believed a different story.

She imagined a sad large space, empty.

It was a big part of the house. Two rooms, a living space, a kitchen.

Y/N imagined an office in one of the rooms. A single desk and a wall of filing cabinets on one side and books on the other. She had never seen him reading the same book twice, she figured he had to keep them somewhere.

In the other room, she imagined a full-sized bed with grey sheets, a side table with a drawer where he kept his notebook, and on that side table a single photo, framed, of his family.

She pictured the wall across from his bed to have three photographs, framed and placed perfectly.

A picture of Choi Seungcheol.

A picture of Choi Y/N.

A picture of Choi Beomgyu.

Beomgyu also almost never slept in his own room. Most of the time he just crawled into the beds of one of his siblings. When he was in his bed, it was because he dragged one of them to sleep with him.

He hated being alone, his greatest fear was that the rest of his family would get up and walk away from him. He loved them too much for that to happen.

"Dad's not even here," the young child sniffled, crawling into the arms of his older brother. "No one else is gonna be in the house. No one is here to protect me."
