Garroth Pov:
Ein blinked once, twice, three times at his reflection before looking up.

"Okay..." He said. "I can see why you're all being weird."

"What is it?" Aaron asked. "What did Laurence give you?"

"Umm... so he grabbed a mirror and handed it to me and instead of my eyes being their normal gray they're a weird bright green color. And it's... exactly the same shade as I saw in my flashbacks. They're kind of glowing too."

I shook myself and spoke to Ein. "Yeah. They're glowing. A while ago you used some magic stuff that turned your eyes green. Everyone's freaking out because they only turn that color when someone is under the effect of a Forever Potion, which is really bad and, again, brings back bad memories."

He looked rather concerned, which was a weird  expression on Ein, especially with the added effect of the eyes. "You guys are really badly mentally scarred, huh?"

"Uh... Yeah I guess." I answered, looking down at the floor. Laurence scooted forward and wrapped his arms around me comfortingly. I looked at him gratefully.

"And-" Ein hesitated, then began again. "And all that trauma... It's because of me, isn't it? It's my fault."

I lifted my head and looked him straight in the eye, unflinching. "It may have been your fault, yes, but in the day you've been here (wow it's only been a day) I think I trust that you're telling the truth about wanting to be a better person. It will take a while, but I think we can all learn to trust you and give you a second chance." Everyone nodded.

"R-really?"

"Yes." I said. He grinned.

"But." Zane said. "If you dare turn against us or try to hurt anybody, I will personally slit your throat and throw your body into a hole, which I will fill with scorpions, then dig you out and feed you to the rats that live in our sewers."

Ein gulped. "Yes sir!" He said, saluting.

"Also, I noticed that you and Aaron agreed to be friends." Travis said.

"Yeah, we did." Aaron said with a smile.

"Well, we'll see how that goes." Travis said. "Given your history, I hope you can actually get along."

"Oh we will, especially since we don't remember that history." Ein smirked. "We're going to be best bros."

"HA! You'll never be better bros than Laurence and me." I exclaimed.

"First of all, the proper grammar is Laurence and I. Second, I'm pretty sure you two aren't bros." Aaron told us.

"What! How dare you! What are we then, if not bros?" Laurence said in mock anger.

Ein smirked as he caught on to whatever Aaron was getting at. "You are much more than bros. I saw the way you moved in front of Laurence to protect him. And I saw the way you, Laurence, comforted him. You aren't bros. I'm pretty sure you're boyfriends."

I felt myself go completely red. I sat there blushing while Laurence stammered.

"W-what! We're n-not b-boyfriends." He was bright red, and I couldn't stop myself from thinking Wow, he's cute when he blushes.

"Well, maybe you're not together yet. But I've been in the same room as you two for less than an hour and I can practically see the sparks fly." Ein claimed.

"I can too. And I'm blind!" Aaron chuckled.

The whole room burst out in laughter. I met Laurence's eyes and we both blushed harder and looked away.

Aaron Pov:
That night, Ein was allowed to come down to dinner with us. Though Aphmau and the other girls obviously didn't like it, they had agreed after we told them about the bonding session all the guys had this morning.

We had spent 5 hours after all that heavy stuff just talking. The guys had helped me work through my slightly mixed feelings about Aphmau, and I had decided to speak with her about it and work hard to regain my memories. We took a break for lunch around 2 o'clock, then played some card and board games. I had to be on a team with Ein, since I couldn't tell what the cards were. We had bonded over being the "memory loss bros".

At dinner Ein sat quietly, not saying a word. He told me later that he had kept his eyes down and not talked because he didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable.

I didn't understand how this kind, fun person could have been so bad.
