Chapter 1

New's POV

Another day, deep breathe, New keeps on telling himself...

It's been years since his best friend died because of a car accident. A drunk truck driver hit or you can say dragged four cars in front of it, and Mild was one of the victims. The truck driver was sentenced to prison. Justice served, yes, but the life of persons, families, left behind will never be the same. 

He rushed to the hospital second after he received the call from the police, asking if he is the relative of Mild. Since the latter was an orphan and a single mom, she puts his name as a person to contact in case of emergency

That night, her best friend keeps on asking to take care of her three yrs old son, Non. And he promised that he will do anything for him...

And that is what he was doing for the last four years. Turning the night into day to earn additional cash, and being able to have time for Non during the day.

His previous carefree life, going to bars, travelling and meeting prospective mates, now put on halt.

He can't even remember when he last went on a date or meet new people, not that he is complaining, but he guesses there will always come a point where parents or guardians will get tired. 

It's Monday and he was busy preparing Non for school when he got a call from his friend.

"New, gusto mo bang kumita?" bungad sa kanya ni Krist.

"Hoy Kit! Kung pyramid scam yan, tigil-tigilan mo ako. Alam mo naman na wala akong pera! Humanap ka ng ibang maloloko mo, ugok!" barking to him. Kit knows that he is in need of money right now and pyramiding is really a no no for him.

"Gago! Tinanong lang kita kung gusto mo kumita ang dami mo na agad sinabi. Clean business to hoy!", Kit replied back to him.

"Ano ba yan?" he asked curiously. "Model hahaha. Our company needs models, yung hindi pa daw nakikita para hindi masyadong mataas ang talent fee." His friend explaining to him when he cut him off.

"Alam kong gwapo ako pero anong klaseng model ba yan? Baka mamaya x-rated yan ha. May anak na ako, tandaan mo." I told Kit.

"Don't worry hindi to x-rated. Ito budget ng client namin, 50-60k. Actually, ang need nila is father and son kaya ikaw kaagad naisip ko. Ano go ba kayo ni Non?" Kit clarified.

"Send mo sa akin details, tingnan ko pagkahatid ko kay Non sa school. He needs to think this through... Though he will be hypocritical if he says that he isn't interested. But being an adult, and a parent, he cannot just simply say yes.

Arriving at the Non's school, he immediately saw his friends and neighbor, Earth and Mix and their seven years old son Ohm, his son's classmate and best friend.

Non, excited to see his friend, immediately runs after Ohm, letting go of New's hand.

Non shouting while running to his friend, "Ohm! Laro muna tayo dun sa slide, please."
