Chapter 20

Off's POV

A friend huh? I know he met that man. And that's one of the reasons why I drove all the way to him hoping to make it on time, to prevent him from leaving.

But when I arrived at their place nobody's home. I tried my luck and looked for Non at New's friends, when the boy saw me he agreed to come with me.

Using the spare key that New gave in case I came home late, we waited for New, until Non felt sleepy that I carry him to bed.

I've been wanting to push him in telling me who he met, what they've talked about, but I'm also not ready myself to hear it.

What if he told the guy about us, pretending, what am I gonna do if they decide to get back together?

"Sir Off, Sir?"

Arm nudges my arm, and whispers.

"Pol focus, Mae is asking you when you want to schedule the meeting with the Finance team."

"Schedule it on the 16th Mae, I will be on leave on the 17th."

Nanon will be celebrating his birthday at school early then on his birthday we will go to New's Lola as scheduled.

We were in the boardroom, the marketing team just finished presenting their ideas for next year's collection. And as usual, my secretary knows that I want to meet the Finance department to check and give me the projections.

But my mind is elsewhere.

When Mae leaves me and Arm, my friend starts interrogating me.

"What is wrong with you? I'm not even sure if you understood the presentation earlier."

"New had dinner with his ex. When I asked him about it, he said he had dinner with a friend"

"Maybe they are friends now."

"I don't know Arm."

"Why are you threatened by this guy? You are practically residing in their house."

"Yes, but New is still aloof sometimes."

"Then maybe you are not trying your best to show him how you love him?"

"You think?"

"Well I only based my opinion on what you're telling me. You told me you are almost a family, so why not take it to the next level?"

"What do you mean?"

"Why not court him? I told you this before, come clean."

"What if he got scared about all of this? And runs off"

"You're always thinking about the worst. What if he stays?"

During Non's celebration at his school, he introduced me to his classmates and teachers, as his papa. I'm so happy about it, though I can see how New smiled awkwardly when he meets my face.

I don't know what he is thinking. But I hope he is happy about it too.

Nanon also told Lola Nene about us getting married. She quickly congratulates us and tells us that she always thought that we are good for each other the first time she saw us together.

And that she is happy because New is building his own family, and that we should give her a grandchild soon.

New smiled and answered that he already had Non. It's not that I don't love the kid, but I want to know if New doesn't really want to have his own child, our child.

On our way home, I couldn't take it anymore so I asked.

"What if I got you pregnant? I mean we are not using any protection."
