Chapter 17

A couple hours had passed

" SPENCER " Ella roared at the top of her lungs.

Spencer came running to her aid

" What is it ma'am ? " He asked

Ella raised an eyebrow

" My bad , 'your highness ' " he bowed

" I gave you one job, just one tiny job that even someone with half a brain cell could take care of and do successfully and yet you couldn't even do that. I warned you what would happen If you failed me. Now thanks  to you Mal and former King Ben are free, they could be anywhere " Ella yelled her eyes looking as cold and dark as her entire personality

" Ella, please give me a second chance " Spencer begged on his knees

" NOOO " She yelled " As always I must take care of them myself "

Ella yelled and turned Spencer to Ice

" What my mother did is nothing compared to what I will do"

Mal gasped

" It worked, it worked " she exclaimed

She had doubted that she could use her magic to transport themselves out of the castle since she hasn't used her magic since way before she was pregnant.

" I knew you could " Ben looked at her lovingly

Mal kissed Ben softly. Ben went to deepen the kiss but Mal pulled back

" There will be plenty of time for that later, but first we need to take back your kingdom "

" Our Kingdom " Ben corrected her

" Our Kingdom " She said

Ben kissed her forehead and grabbed her hand and they sneaked around Auradon City to where Ben suspected their friends would hide when the curse broke and they realised that an unexpected villain was in control.

Adrianna remained asleep. She really sleeps through anything; Mal thought to herself

After ten minutes of making their way to the secret hideout in the middle of Auradon City, they finally arrived. They entered the building. It reminded Mal of their hideout back on the Island they grew up on except it was much more pink and baby blue. It was obvious, the hideout had been made for a younger Ben and Audrey. It was more of a playhouse than a hideout but these kids were royalty so Mal wasn't too surprised at the size of the building. They walked into the building and couldn't see anything.

" I guess they aren't here " Mal sighed holding Adrianna

" Somebody's here " They heard a familiar voice whisper at the back of the house.

They couldn't in the moment figure out who the voice had belonged to.

They heard the person pull out a sword.

She ran out of hiding but dropped her weapon when she met with the faces of our heroes; Ben and Mal.

" Ben, Mal oh my god " Lonnie said relieved

" Its so good to see you again " Mal hugged Lonnie

" What's going on ? Where's Ella? "

" We've just escaped from our castle......where she was holding us hostage " Ben sighed

" Hostage? wait, how'd you escape? "

" My magic can come in handy sometimes even if Ben doesn't like me using it "

Their other friends came out of their hiding places.

Evie smiled at the sight of Ben and Mal together again. Her ship was back together.

" She would've killed Mal , I had to resign. She's in power now " Ben sighed with his head in his hands

" That psycho is queen " Jay said / yelled " No..No..No "

" This can't be happening " Carlos thought aloud

" It could be worse, at least M is okay " Evie said trying to release some of the stress and anxiety in the room

" This is all my fault " Mal sighed " Everyone is in danger because of me "

" Mal, don't blame yourself " Carlos comforted her

" Yeah M, Ella is just a broken hearted girl looking for a way to heal " Evie rolled her eyes

" We need a plan " Mal said still feeling a bit guilty.

Nothing could be easy for Ben and Mal. Especially since the entire female population minus a few were in love with her husband.

Ben and Mal were left alone with their sleeping infant while their friends went off to find some food without being caught by Ella. They had no idea how long they would have to hide for, to be honest they were protecting Adrianna rather than themselves. They truly had no idea what Ella was capable of. The very thought scared them.

" This is how its supposed to be, Ben " Mal said

" It's not an easy decision but It has to be done " Ben said

Their friends overheard parts of their conversation.

" No, no, no! " Jane said " You are not letting her win"

" You and Mal belong together Ben, you are not giving up your love for 'peace' " Lonnie interrupted Jane

" Bal is endgame, I don't care what you are going to say. You are literally married with a child. That Bitch is not coming back just to tear you apart " Evie yelled in a quiet voice to avoid anyone finding out where they were hiding until they could face Ella.

" E, calm down " Mal comforted her friend

" I will not calm down, you deserve your happy ending... both of you... "

" Evie, we're not breaking up " Ben tried to hold back his laugh but he failed

" Ben " Mal scolded and hit him gently on the arm

" wait, you're not? " Doug asked (after remaining quiet for the entirety of this book )

" No! " Ben and Mal said in unison

" We've been through far too much to let a spoilt princess get her way "

" Yeah exactly and we have a plan " Ben said

" Oh " Jane and Lonnie said in unison, a bit embarrassed

" What is it then? " Jay asked changing the conversation as everyone was feeling a little bit awkward right now.

" We think the only way we can defeat her is by destroying magic " Mal said

" Destroying magic? Are you sure? " Evie said

" All her power comes from magic, without it she's just ordinary like most of us " Ben said

" How are you going to do that without being killed? " Jay said humoursly

" We need magic to destroy magic and only I and Jane can do it since we are the descendants of the most powerful figures to ever exist "

" Me? But...But I've never used it, I'll screw everything up... trust me Mal, you are better off finding someone else " Jane rambled

" I believe in you, Jane " Mal took her hand

" So do I " Carlos smiled at her

" I don't think we can do this without you, We need to go now and find your mother " Mal said

" Okay, let's do it " Jane responded still a bit nervous
