Mal woke up, she was laying on the cold floor. She got up and looked around her. She was in an old apartment. She couldn’t remember ever coming here, she just knew that for as long as she could remember that she had been here. She couldn’t remember anything. Everyone here was the same. Everyone knew each other but they couldn’t remember when or how they met. Nobody ever questioned it.
Auradon had changed since the curse was casted. Everyone’s memories were replaced. It was like they were living in an alternative reality. Everyone knew who they were but they couldn’t remember the people closest to them. Their loved one’s were forgotten and if they knew their name, they would be lucky but they could no longer remember their past with them. Everything was forgotten. All the memories, gone!
Ben had just woken up. He was confused, more so than usual. He looked around. There was nobody here, just himself and an empty castle. There were no photographs at all like there once had been long ago. There was one painting hung up. It was a portrait of the benevolent king.
Ben walked around the corridors looking for anybody who could help him. He came across a woman. She was not much older or younger than he was. She wore her blonde hair in a braid. Her skin was pale and her eyes were beautiful. The most beautiful eyes he had ever seen. They were icy blue and they complimented her appearance beautifully. He stood in awe for a moment, he felt like he knew her; perhaps in another life.
One thing for sure was he knew she was beautiful. He couldn’t remember anyone or anything. She was his one shot and finding some help. He assumed he had got hurt and fell into a coma. It could be the only logical explanation, right?
“ Ben, you’re awake “ She cried tears of joy
“Yeah “ he hesitated “ What happened ?”
She smirked evilly. It worked. It really worked.“ You got hurt. I was so worried. I didn’t think I would see you again “ She hugged him
Ben hugged back reluctantly
“ I can’t remember…. I don’t even know your name and I’m guessing we know each other “ Ben felt ashamed
“ Ben, it’s okay “ Ella replied “ I’m Ella, we’re engaged “
She showed him Mal’s engagement ring which was now sat on her finger. It got left behind in the curse. As did the wedding rings but she hid them. She couldn’t let them be found. Soon she would destroy them and every trace of Mal in this castle would be gone.
“ Engaged? We are engaged ? “ Ben thought aloud “ I should remember that. When and how ? “
“ Not long ago. You sang our song and then you got down on one knee. I said yes. You were so happy and we kissed in front of the whole kingdom “
Ben believed her every word. He had a distant memory of proposing to a girl in that way. It was the only memory he had managed to hold on to. Ella kissed him and he felt a bunch of memories come back but they were not as they seemed. Every memory he had shared with Mal had been replaced with Ella instead besides anything with his child. He had no memory of that and Ella needed to keep it that way. Ella was prepared to leave him be as he needed time to comprehend everything.
“ Wait, Ella “
“ Yes, dear “
“ I think I remember “
“ Really ?? “
“ Yes, Yes “
He pulled her into a deep kiss and she couldn’t believe it. The spell had worked and now he would never have another thought about that purple haired witch as he now believed all those wasted years with Mal were actually with her.
Anyone miss Bal already 😩😩
