Chapter 18

Mal handed Adrianna to Ben and she let out a sob.

" It'll be okay, your father will take care of you "

Mal kissed Ben's cheek before leaving the 'hideout' with Jane.

" Ben, can I say something in private ? " Mal smiled sadly

"Of course " Ben handed Adrianna to Evie for a moment

Ben and Mal went to talk in the bathroom.

" I just need to tell you something.  Please don't interrupt me as I don't have much time " Mal said looking at him directly

" Of course,  my love. Go ahead, tell me what's going on in that beautiful mind of yours "

" I don't know if this will work. I really don't. I just trying to be hopeful, I guess. I want this to work. I want to have a future with you but if it doesn't than I need you to know that I love you and thank you, you saved me when I didn't even realise I needed saving, you gave me a family and a better life here in Auradon and I am so grateful for you" Mal sobbed

"Hey, don't cry. You can do this. I believe in you. I believe in you cause I love you and you, my dear will not go down without a fight. You fight for who you love and you will not let some angry girl take that away from not just you but from everyone "

" I love you "

" I love you too, more than anything "

Mal kissed him passionately as if it was the last time she would ever see him. Ben gladly returned the kiss.

" Now go with Jane and save us. We need you "

" Okay " she nodded before bidding him a final goodbye.

The duo went to find Fairy Godmother and discussed their plans with her. The two young girls felt nervous and anxious. If their plan didn't work, than it would be game over. They needed this to work. Not just for their own sake but it was on a huge pedestal. Everyone living in Auradon was depending on them.

" Dad " Mal called out into his apartment which he called a 'lair' but really it was your typical American apartment just decorated to generate fear from its visitors and by visitors, he meant Mal or Ben as they were the only ones who would willingly go and see him.

" We need your help "

" Gladly " Hades replied " I'll help you file out those divorce papers "

" Dad " Mal said sternly " No"

" Just Kidding. Haha "

Mal stared at him blankly

" Tough Crowd "

He had turned a corner. This was an understatement. Two years ago, he was still torturing people but seeing Mal again made him realise how much he missed and if he didn't change, he would end up like Maleficent and be completely cut off from their daughters life. Sometimes it baffles him that he even had a child with the devil that is Maleficent but that is a story for another day.

Mal rolled her eyes

" Fine. What do you need? "

" In order to save Auradon, we need to combine the power of Fairy Godmother's wand and Hades' ember along with the magical abilities of the descendants of the most powerful figures " Mal explained " Its a long shot but it is our only and last option. If we fail than we may have lost and will lose everything we love "

" Just tell me what you want me to do and I'll do it for you, Mali "

Meanwhile, the rest of their gang waited anxiously in the hideout being cautious enough not to gather attention to draw Ella here.

" I'm not sure is this a good idea " Carlos said pacing the floor

He had two loved ones at stake here. His girlfriend and the girl who had basically become a sister to him over the last few years. He didn't know what he would do if he ever lost either of them.

" Jane and Mal will be fine, C " Evie said " They are both strong girls and once this is over, everything can go back to the way it was and we can live like we should have been "

Evie gave Carlos a comforting hug

" Thanks Evie " Carlos said

" Anytime " She smiled

" But when do you think they'll be back? I'll feel better when I can see them here, safe in front of us, back where they belong "

Ben laughed " Mal won't go down without a fight, neither will Jane. Now Breathe. In and Out "

Ben comforted Carlos along with Evie.

" You know they are right, bro " Jay added observing the conversation and finding it hilarious how protective Carlos has gotten. Jay used to be the protective big 'brother' and now Mal and Evie have two.

Carlos let out a sigh of relief when he heard the door open and saw a girl wearing bows run in.

" JANE " Carlos exclaimed and ran and picked her up.

He looked at her face and knew something was wrong. Then he realized, Mal never came back with her.

" Jane, where's Mal? " Evie asked

" Did something happen? " Carlos asked

They had succeeded, magic had been destroyed finally. The darkness that Ella had brought into Auradon faded away and the sun came out. Everything was like how it was before.

" We did it! We actually did it! " Jane celebrated " Mal! MAL ! "

Jane turned to her right, only to find a passed out Mal on the floor. She looked paler than normal. Jane began to panic. She
called over her mother and her mother phoned the hospital as Mal's breathing began to slow down.

" We're losing her " The doctor informed her

" Jane " Fairy Godmother said holding back all her emotions " I need you to get Ben and her friends. I'm afraid this might be their last chance to see her "

After everything the young couple had gone through, they deserved to be happy. Now it seems, Mal risked her life to protect everyone else's.....
