Diana was pacing around her small apartment, tears running down her face as she held onto her stomach. "This can't be right, lord please let it be wrong," she cried as she leaned against the wall.

Her legs gave out from under her from all of the shock. So many thoughts and emotions were swirling around in her head that she could no longer bear keeping it in.

She always told herself she wasn't like other girls, that she was smart, and protective of not only her heart but her treasure down below but here she was pregnant.

She had been feeling a little under the weather for a while but she just chalked it up to be because of the weather. There was a cold front then it suddenly got hot. She's gotten sick from it multiple times before so she thought nothing of it. It was when she checked her calendar and saw that her period didn't come when she became worried.

Diana was taking birth control pills so just thought that now she was sexually active it could have knocked off her period.

Then the morning sickness kicked in last week, and the fatigue, and her period still did not arrive. So, on her day off she went down to the doctors office to see if she was pregnant. Two days later and the results were in and Diana was not happy.

She saw man black women get knocked up by white men just for them to not acknowledge their child at all or send twenty to fifty dollars a month and she did not want to be one of those ladies. Plus, she was due to start her new job in the next two months and she couldn't be pregnant. Her mom didn't know, Stevie parents didn't know, and she was adamant on them not finding out.

Everything was a mess.

Car horn outside and she slowly picked herself up off of the floor and walked to her room to fix her face and blow her nose. She knew Deonté would be able to tell that she was crying but he was so out of it he wouldn't say anything. It was Stevie she had to worry about. Luckily she didn't have to worry about him because he was in Cuba.
