It was days like these that made the shop more eerie than it actually was. The sun was covered by clouds, making the day seem like night. The sound of thunder filled the sky and the rain washed away the sins that were committed on the weekend.
The spirits that resided in the dolls and other objects throughout the store were more loud than usual too.
When I first came in this morning they were so loud I nearly passed out. Their voice was clear, and there were so many coming from all throughout the room, but yet I couldn't understand what they were saying. It was as of though they were speaking pig Latin but I could understand that.
The doorbell to the shop jingled, and I immediately got up and went out front.
A very good looking man was standing out front in a long black coat drenched from the head up. His hair was soaking wet and dripping onto his chiseled face. I watched as he looked around taking in the different things on display. His demeanor screamed scared, and I instantly knew that he wasn't used to the whole voodoo thing.
He was scared and too easily swayed. Like the tick of a clock, Marries Mirror started to pull him towards it, and I knew if I didn't step in he would be bent out and ushered towards hell real quick.
"Hi, how may I help you?" I asked finally stepping out.
The man instantly jumped causing him to bump into the shelf behind him, making Candace the doll fall to floor "I'm so sorry—" he said trying to pick up the doll but I quickly stopped him.
"No!" I said startling him. I quickly ran over to the doll and picked her up. I dusted her off and placed her back on the shelf then turned to the mysterious man. "I'm sorry about that, these objects on this side of the store aren't things to mess with. How about we move over here?" I said trying to usher him to the other side.
