LOST LYCAN

Chapter eight

LYNETTE'S POV
I froze when her eyes opened and without thinking,I shifted into my wolf and bounded off.

"Lynette!!"I heard her call from behind me. But Crystal ran faster and faster. I could feel that she was confused and scared just as I was. Crystal nearly bumped into a tree and whimpered.

All of a sudden,a bubble wrapped around us and Crystal fell in it. An opening appeared in the bubble and Leila entered. She was floating in the air.

"Lynette"she whispered. I shifted back,shivering as tears ran down my cheeks. "I won't hurt you. I can explain" she whispered again.
I had even forgotten that I was naked till I felt a dress on my body. She had conjured a dress for me.

"What is there to explain?"I whispered. She sighed "I know you are a werewolf and not just any common werewolf"
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"He didn't tell you??"she exclaimed.
"I don't understand. Who didn't tell me what?" I asked.

"I am the daughter of the most powerful witch alive and my coven was an ally of your father's pack. We were tasked with protecting your pack and your father. He was the last lycan alive. Shortly after you were born,there was an attack on your pack by hunters" she started talking, ignoring my question.

"My mother arrived too late to save your parents. They were dead already but she couldn't find your body so she assumed that you were alive. So she searched for you. She consulted her Oracle and found out that you were alive but more interestingly, you were a lycan. There has never been a female lycan before"

"Wait. What's a lycan?" I asked. "A lycan is a very powerful wolf. In fact the most powerful wolf ever. Lycans have always been males but there was a werewolf prophecy years ago that talked about the rise of a lycan that would be more powerful than any lycan that ever came into existence. But the oddest part of this is that that lycan is a female" she replied.

"Yay,I feel powerful right now" I said sarcastically. "You are very powerful. You haven't yet realized your powers that's why"Leila said.
"So why didn't you tell me?"I whispered to her.

"I was tasked with protecting you as soon as mother found out about you. We disguised ourselves as humans and hid our scents." She said, picking her nails.
"So how does a witch smell like?"I asked. In response,she closed her eyes and her hair turned green again. Crystal came forward to help heighten my tired senses.

A medicinal herb smell filled my nostrils. I had smelt it before. I tried to remember what it was when Crystal said Sage. She smells like sage.
I nodded, agreeing with her.
"So what is my answer?" Leila asked.

"You smell like Sage. Do all witches smell like that?"I asked.
"Every witch has a distinct smell. Even though we all smell medicinal-like. My mom smells like eucalyptus."she chuckled and I smiled.

"Im sorry for running away when I saw you"I said and lowered my eyes.
"It's okay. You didn't know and you were scared. I just hope this won't affect our relationship" she said.
"Of course not. You're still my best friend. You're still Leila even if I find the whole witch thing weird" I laughed out.

She smiled and hugged me.

AARON'S POV
I bounded off to the edge of the forest in wolf form. The disgusting smell of rouges filled my nostrils and Jaden shook his big head as if to shake the smell out of his head.

Our ears twitched when we heard a twig break. Jaden immediately got into fighting stance but relaxed when the scent of Tony's wolf filled our nostrils.
Remy, Tony's wolf crept out of a nearby bush.

Where are they i mindlinked him. Follow me he replied and crept back into the bushes. I followed his big grey wolf till the smell of the rouges became unbearable. Jaden let out a low growl.

We came to a small clearing in the middle of the woods. The scent of the rouges was at it's peak here. It was so horrible that I started feeling dizzy for a moment. But Jaden fought the nasty smell and sneaked into the clearing with Remy.

There were only five rouges and they seemed to be oblivious of their surroundings. This put Jaden on high alert. This means that they had a sort of protection they were confident in.

Remy sniffed the edge of the clearing and confirmed my suspicions. There was magic lining the edge of the clearing.
Keep an eye on them for sometime. I want to know what they are up to.
Remy nodded his big head at my mindlink and I bounded off to find my mate.

I shifted back and put on some clothes and set off to find my sweet mate. But Lynnette was nowhere to be found and I started to panic a little. Jaden started pacing in my head when we checked the library and she wasn't there.
Where is she? I can't sense her wolf  Jaden whimpered.

I had to track her down. Jaden came forward in my head and I took a deep breath. Once I found her scent,I followed it to a certain place. She had been there a few minutes ago because her scent was quite strong but it was mixed with the scent of sage.

Sage was a herb and the only creatures that smelt like herbs were witches. Oh no! My eyes widened. Did some witch capture her?? My mind went to the rouges and the magic I sensed.

I quickly shifted back into my wolf and took off in the direction her scent led me. What I saw shocked me. My mate was trapped in a bubble with a witch. I lunged for the bubble but i I bounced right off.

The bubble suddenly popped and Lynnette called my name"Aaron".
I was filled with relief but when I spotted the witch I lunged for her.
"Aaron nooo!" Lynette screamed.
A shield appeared around the witch and I bounced off that too.

I snarled and was about to lunge again when Lynnette came to stand in front of me. "Don't harm her"she said shakily and I looked at her in confusion as Jaden's big head tilted to one side.

The witch chuckled and stepped forward and my jaw dropped-or should I say Jaden's jaw dropped.
In front of me stood a whole different Leila.
