Chapter nine

LYNETTE'S POV
Aaron hugged me tightly to him and pressed his sweet lips to mine. My insides melted and I could feel my face heat up when he pulled back. He was so handsome and so sexy.

Leila cleared her throat and I looked at her bashfully.
"Can I talk to you for a second?"she asked me sweetly.
I was about to reply when Aaron jumped in front of me, going instantly into protective mode.

"It's okay Aaron. I'm not going to hurt her" Leila rolled her eyes at him. I placed a hand on his shoulder and gave him a reassuring look. He relaxed a bit but was still tense.

I went to stand by Leila who was still glaring at Aaron.
"I mean alone"she sneered.
What was up with Leila,I thought she liked Aaron.
"No" Aaron said with power oozing off him.

"Please Aaron." I pleaded. "Okay"he huffed and turned away. Leila lifted a hand and chanted some words and a bubble surrounded us again.
"It's sound proof. So that he can't hear us no matter how much he tries to eavesdrop" she muttered under her breath and turned to me.

"Lynnette"
"Leila"I replied.
"Don't you think that things between you and Aaron are going quite fast"she asked arching her eyebrows.
I was quite shocked when she said that.
"I mean. You hardly know him or his background. You know nothing about his past or who he truly is. You don't even know if you truly love him, you're acting solely on the mate bond" she pointed out.

Shockingly,Leila was right. I knew nothing about him or even if I really loved him or it was just the mate bond. He just said that he was my mate and I kinda just accepted him. I didn't know who he truly was.

I looked at Leila. "You're right. I know nothing about him and I have even kissed and hugged him" I said.
"Well, I think you should start learning more about him than to just jump into this whole thing at once. I know werewolves very well but you hardly even know much about your own self."

"You're right"I beamed at her. She smiled and popped the bubble. We came face to face with an irritated Aaron. Who was tapping his left foot impatiently.
"Baby! Are you okay?"he asked as he searched me for any injury and buried his face in my neck and inhaled deeply.
I shivered at the contact but gently pushed him away when he placed a kiss on my neck.

He looked at me, confusion written all over his handsome face.
"Can we talk?"I asked him sweetly.
He scowled at Leila.
"What did that girl say?"he huffed.
I shot him a glare and slapped his arm.
"That girl is my best friend"

"Sorry"he whispered and I smiled.
"Okay so what did you want to talk about?"he asked.
"Umm...can we go somewhere more private?"
"Yes. Actually there is a cliff with a beautiful scenery. We can ran to that place" he said.

Two minutes later,we had shifted and were running through the forest. My white fur shinning bright.
When we reached the cliff, Aaron shifted back first and my surprisingly mature but naughty wolf started placing images in my head. I shook my head quickly to get rid of those thoughts.

He came out wearing a tight T-shirt and shorts. He handed me a floral dress and I hid behind a tree,shifted and quickly threw on the dress.
I sat down beside him on the grass. The cold air nipped at my skin but the warmth from him made it better.

"So...I just wanted to know more about you"I started. I felt him tense a bit.
"Oh yeah..."he replied hesitantly.
"What is your full name?" I asked brushing away his reaction.
"Aaron Reed. What about yours?"
"Well,now that I know that my mom isn't my real mom then I'm not sure of my surname"I said sadly.

"I'm sorry"he whispered.
"How old are you?" I asked.
"I'm 20."
"Wow"
"So tell me about your family?" I asked and he stiffened.

AARON'S POV
I stiffened at that question because that was a huge secret I had to keep. My family wasn't your normal werewolf family.

There were really dark secrets in my family. Secrets that would surely drive Lynnette away if I told her. These were secrets that were so dark that only three people knew about,including me of course. But I even found out by accident.

"Aaron?? Are you okay?"my mate's sweet voice cut my thoughts and I smiled a tight smile.
"My family is a perfect one. My dad is a wonderful Alpha and my mom is a majestic and lovely Luna. They rule our pack with pride."I lied smoothly and cringed inwardly.

Lynnette smiled.
"I would love to meet them"she said,her beautiful eyes sparkling.
"Umm...they are in another pack on pack business and wouldn't be back for some months"I said quickly and her face fell.

'I'm sorry for lying to you but I have to or else I will lose you' I said to myself.
"We will meet them when they return" I said and she smiled again but I cringed inwardly even more, knowing that that was also a lie.

We sat in silence for a few minutes till Lynnette started asking questions again.
"What's your favorite color?"
"Blue. What about you?"
"I love all colors" she said.
I chuckled at her cuteness and she blushed.

"Favorite movie?" She asked.
"I don't really have one" I replied.
"Favorite sport?"
"I love football and basketball"
"Favorite food?"
"Mac and cheese"

I wasn't asking her back because I was starting to feel a little bored.
She also started dozing off so I picked her up in my arms and she snuggled into me in her sleep, sighing contentedly.

I felt sad about lying to my beautiful mate but I had to keep my family's horrible secret.
