LYNNETTE'S POV
I felt my head spin and I clenched my eyes shut tightly as Leila and I spiraled down the portal.
It felt like we were falling and falling endlessly.
Crystal began to feel uneasy even though we both trusted Leila.

As we fell, the air around us and in the portal suddenly changed. It started simmering with something that felt like electric tingles and raised goosebumps all over my body. I opened my eyes a teeny tiny fraction and saw Leila in her witch form. Glowing eyes and all.

The simmering in the air increased as the goosebumps worsened.
Then suddenly, there was a bright light. We had arrived.
I raised an eyebrow at Leila who brought her chant to an end.
Her glowing eyes met mine and she smiled brightly.

I haven't really talked about how beautiful she looks in her true form. She had this air of regality around her and she exuded confidence and firmness. Of course, in her human form, she had all these qualities but they seemed to be heightened when she was in her witch form.

I could practically feel the magic moving around as I took in my surroundings. There were strange plants and animals around. There was even a crow who sung like a nightingale. I stared at it in shock, marveling about how that was possible.

"Let's go" her voice boomed, startled me out of my fascination and knocked me back a few inches. I stared at her in shock when I regained my composure. Her eyes immediately widened as she began another chant which was really short and then she spoke again "let's go".
This time, it was in a normal voice.
"What was that?" I asked her bewildered .
"Im sorry, that's my authoritative voice. I forgot to tell you. Every witch has a different voice when they are in their coven, it's not the same as our human voices."

"The magical air around here is so thick that we have these special voices and because my mother is the coven leader and I will be one one day, my voice is higher in authority than the other witches" she continued.
I was surprised about how much witches were complicated .
I nodded, accepting her apology and tried to follow her as she indicated me to.

But I couldn't move a muscle. I could move only my eyes and lips.
"Umm...Leila?" I called out to her and she turned to me.
"Oh, I forgot "she said as she lifted her hands and yelled a single word and then almost immediately, I could move .

"What was that?" I asked befuddled.
"To prevent evil trespassers, a spell has been cast on the coven that whoever isn't a witch would be stuck at where they are until they're freed." She explained and I rubbed my forehead in exasperation.

Their coven was definitely a lot to take in because I hadn't seen that much magic before in my entire life. " I'm sorry. You will get used to it" she looked at me with sympathy.
I nodded and started following her.
Crystal had been insanely quiet all this while and I could tell she was intimidated my all the magic around.

I followed her up a path lined with some weird purple flowers. The flowers seemed to come out of nowhere as we walked on. From a distance, there were no flowers on the path clearly but as we walked on they started popping out magically.
I was fascinated.

Leila led me into the coven. There was nothing to see ahead of us and I was so confused. There were no houses nor roads ahead. There was like nothing for miles and miles or so it seemed until I walked into something hard and fell down on my ass.
"Owww" I rubbed my butt as Leila chuckled at me.

"There's a magic shroud over the entrance so we have to lift the shroud" and with that, she muttered another string of words and I was beginning to get tired of the many spells and chants.

She muttered something in gibberish and I resisted the urge to roll my eyes at her. As much as I was fascinated, I was also getting annoyed with having to do everything by casting a spell. Suddenly the shroud just dissolved in front of my eyes and revealed a very ancient looking town.

There were witches everywhere. Some were practicing their magic, others were conjuring things out of thin air and some were literally just floating about.
I felt a thin veil of magic suddenly descend upon me and I turned to Leila questioningly.

It turned out that she has cast an invisibility spell on me but I wasn't sure if it would work because we were walking into a whole village of witches. But it seemed to work just fine as she successfully slipped me into the large library.

She told me to stand still as she searched for the book we needed by scanning the shelves with her magic.
She scanned thrice but ended with a disappointed look each time.
"I don't think it's here" she whispered with a forlorn look on her face.

She started pacing up and down while thinking about what to do.
But then her face brightened up all of a sudden.
" There is only one place where very important books are kept. My mother's chamber" she muttered to me .

Without hesitation, she teleported us there .
And after a few seconds of scanning her mother's shelves, she finally found the book. It was dusty, ancient looking and downright gross.
"We need to get out of here before mother returns" she started conjuring up a portal but nothing, absolutely nothing happened.

She looked at her hands with a confused expression and tried the spell again but this time she cried out in pain and I moved forward to try to help her and ask what was wrong but I was firmly rooted to one spot.

Then that's when we both heard it, a chilling evil laugh. Suddenly, Leila's mom appeared in front of us. She had on the scariest most evil smile ever.
I felt my invisibility shield fall apart like shreds of paper as Leila stared at her mom very confused and alarmed.

"What's going on mother?" She asked in a shaky voice while clutching her sides.
Her mother gave her a sardonic smile, pointed a long fingernail at me and said
"I want her".
