LYNETTE'S POV
I woke up at once, drenched in sweat and panting. I looked around frantically and realized that I was in my room. My forehead creased.

Then the events of the evening came back to me. Talking with Aaron, dozing off and the feeling of his arms around me as he carried me. He must have been the one who brought me home.
I rubbed my eyes and yawned.

I lay down to sleep again when the details of the night mare I had started to come back to me. My heart started racing and Crystal was pacing in my head. She was as disturbed as I was.

In the nightmare, some men clothed in black had burst into my house and had slit the throat of my human mother. They then proceeded to where I was standing but I was suddenly in my wolf form and I tore them into pieces. My eyes had been glowing. A blue glow.

I shivered at the replay of the nightmare in my head and squeezed my eyes shut tightly. Crystal retreated to the back of my head and folded herself into a ball.

She was also attached to my human mother. She had formed a bond with her because I loved her. She was still my mother. I snuggled into my blanket and tried to fall asleep again.

But I couldn't.

I heard muffled sounds from my  mother's room which was just next to mine. I slid out of the blanket and out of my room.
"Mom"I called. There was no response.
"MOM"I called louder. Still no answer.

I opened the door and found her sobbing into her pillow. I walked softly to her side and tapped her.
She jumped up from the bed at once in a war-like stance but relaxed at once when she saw me.

"Lyn. What are you doing here?"she asked, giving me a weak smile. I noticed that her hair was matted and disheveled. She looked paler than normal and thinner than normal. Like she had not been eating properly.

"Mom. What's wrong?"I whispered worriedly.
"Nothing Nettie"she sighed.
Actually my mom had thousands of pet names for me.
Some were very cute. And some were heidious.

"Are you sure Mom?"I asked and I was sure that I looked panicked by now because she looked at me worriedly.
"I'm fine, Lyn. Don't worry too much" she touched my cheeks softly.
I leaned into her touch like I used to do when I was a little girl.

She smiled. "Even if you're not my real daughter, you know that I really love you so much right?"there were tears in her eyes when she said that.
Of course I knew. She had taken very good care of me till now and she still does.

"I know Mom. I love you too"I whispered back. She smiled through her tears and hugged me tight. I knew that something was wrong and she wasn't telling me.

"Now go and get some rest. You have school tomorrow"she said, broke the hug, kissed my forehead and showed me out of her room.
Something was bothering her and it was something big by the way she looked so broken.
Crystal was pacing in my head uneasily.

We needed something to help us relax. Aaron popped into my head at once and I smiled. Thinking about his handsome face and his sweet lips and his mouth watering smell. I smiled as I entered my room and slid into my blanket and drifted off into a deep sleep with Aaron's face in my mind.

AARON'S POV
I lay in my bed with my eyes wide open. I had lied to my sweet sweet mate. My naive mate who knew little to nothing about our kind and about who she really was.

I didn't even tell her that she was a lycan, the most powerful werewolf ever. Jaden was very mad at me. For lying to her. He had been snarling at me in my head non stop.

But I couldn't tell her my family secret. What if my dad finds out that I told someone else about our secret. He would try to eliminate her regardless of she being my mate.

The truth was my dad didn't believe in mates. So my mom wasn't his real mate. There were so many things about my dad that went against the moon goddess. He was mysterious and of course I knew why.

It all boiled down to the secret. That heart stopping secret. I squeezed my eyes shut and grabbed my blanket tightly.
Jaden whined in my head thinking about what Lynnette would feel like when she found out about the truth.

Feeling drained from all the thinking I was doing,I sighed deeply and closed my weary eyes.
