UNKNOWN POV
I run as fast as my legs could carry me. The wolf cub had now shifted into her original human form.

She was such a cute and adorable little girl. I could tell she was just a year old. There was a necklace around her neck with a name.

I couldn't stop to look at the name now. Very soon, dad would notice that I'm missing and will try to find me.

I had a little money on me but it was enough to take a bus to my grandma's house. I had been saving money gradually for a rainy day.

And I guess this was my rainy day. Suddenly, the little girl started coughing and opened her eyes.

Her little eyes stared curiously at me. They were a strange colour. Like a mixture of purple and grey. They also had golden flecks in them.

I was fascinated. I stared at her till she smiled at me. I smiled back and she snuggled into me.

I just hoped that she wouldn't cry. When we finally got to town. I bought a little baby food jar just in case I had to feed her.

I fed her quickly when she was getting fussy. Then she settled down.

After 15minutes,we were in the bus and off to Grandma's house.

I loved Grandma so much. She used to tell stories about my mom to me. My mom died the moment I was born so I never got to meet her.

Grandma said I had my mother's eyes and her strawberry blonde hair. I wish I had met her.

Before I knew it,we had reached our destination. I dialed grandma's number. The phone was answered on the second ring.

"Hello dearie"her voice came over the phone all croaky and hoarse.

"Hello Nana! I'm visiting you now. Sorry for the late notice"I said.

"Oh dearie! I'm so happy that you're visiting but you should have told me earlier,I would have baked your favorite cookies for you"she answered very excited that I was visiting.

I grinned wide."No worries Nana,I'm coming to stay now. I won't be leaving anymore"

The phone was silent for a minute and then "Oh my dearest dearest girl!!! This makes me so happy!! Come come!!! I'm waiting!!"she answered excitedly and I knew at once that she was doing a happy dance.

"Okay Nana. See you in 5minutes!!"

"5?? Oh my God!!"she gasped and quickly ended the call.

I chuckled. She probably had the place a teeny weeny bit disorganized.
Grandma was a neat freak so any tiny dirt was considered a huge mess.

I remember that once she freaked out when I spilled my milk and had cheese all over my face. I was just 2 years old.

I could still remember that time like it was yesterday.

When we finally reached Grandma's door,I knocked in a particular way.

Two sharp knocks

Three loud ones

And two sharp knocks again.

It was a special knock Nana had taught me when I was little. It was to help me to not let strangers in when Nana was out during my childhood visits

The door swing back at once and before I knew it, Grandma was hugging me tight.
When the little girl let out a cry was when Grandma let go of me, surprised.

She stared at the little girl whose face was beginning to crumble.

"Dearie, whose child is this? Is she yours...so that's why you came without telling me...you wanted me to be surprised...I'm sooooooooooooooooooooo happy...I finally have a grand daughter" grandma squealed as she began to do that silly dance of hers.

The little girl began to giggle and laugh.
Grandma also laughed and took the girl from my arms.

"What beautiful eyes she has!" Grandma commented. "I'm guessing they came from your father" she cooed to the girl.

"There's something I have to tell you Nana"

"What is it dearie?" Grandma asked at once, sensing my distress.

"Let's go inside"

We went inside and Nana locked the door behind us. I took the little girl from her arms and sat on the chair grandma offered me.

She served me some tea and I told her everything that had happened.

After listening, she sat still for a while and whispered "So little cutie here is a werewolf"

"Yes Nana"I nodded.

Luckily for me, grandma had nothing against werewolves. I even heard a rumour that she used to be a werewolf's mate.

She thought for some minutes and burst out happily" Don't worry dearie, we're going to take care of her ourselves."

"Are you sure Nana?

"I'm sure. We will give her a good life free from any harm"

She stared at the necklace around the little girl's neck and whispered " little Lynette".

"Yes, little Lynette. Maddie will take care of you" I whispered to her too.
