"Filming just finished a month ago and you're telling me I have a meeting with some director for a new part?" Taehyung sighed into the phone receiver, eyes narrowing as he stuck a hand out and felt a sprinkle of rain collide against his palm.
It was barely even eight in the morning, and here he was, already on a work call with nobody other than his manager: Jung Hoseok. To think that he was supposed to have a day-off today, and yet he drove all the way to this cafe somewhere in Seoul to meet up with some director.
"Yeah, and you better go," Hoseok shot back. "I know you're tired but c'mon. It's a good idea, and look at it as some sort of vacation. The filming's set in a foreign country, Tae."
"I know, and I'm already here," Taehyung shoved his fingers through his newly dyed brown locks. He got it a few days ago but his scalp still stung a little bit. He supposed you win some and you lose some.
In this case, that "some" was probably his hair.
"It's raining." And unfortunately, as if on cue, it began to pour.
"I can hear it. Look at you, you little magic wizard," Hoseok said sarcastically. "A little rain won't hurt, Tae. Get an umbrella. You have money."
"Uh, no? Who willingly wastes twenty-two thousand won on an umbrella?" He grumbled, eyeing the crosswalk and the cafe ahead of him. It wasn't a far walk, so there wasn't much of a reason to bitch about.
"I'm telling you, you'll love the project," Hoseok continued on. "I think this is exactly what you need."
"Will I get mugged?"
"Ha, so funny. So funny I laughed so hard," Hoseok deadpanned. "No, you're not gonna get mugged."
"That's a shame," Taehyung winced as he stepped out from beneath the awning and felt rain pelt his face, ice cold droplets now sliding down his neck.
His manager sighed. Hoseok was always sighing or smiling like some stuck the sun up his ass. There wasn't an in between. "Are you going or not?"
"Alright. Fine," Taehyung said. "I am." The call finally ended with Hoseok thanking Taehyung and assuring him that this was "the best decision he would ever make" in his entire career. Well, it better be.
Taehyung did a weird half-walk, half-jog thing through the rain and finally made it to the small cafe despite being a little drenched. Thankfully, not a lot of people noticed him weave through the crowds of umbrellas and briefcase-shields. The black mask he wore and the simple oversized hoodie and pants he decided to wear on a whim concealed his identity well on busy Seoul streets.
He was a lot more famous than he was before he started this movie. An entire year has passed since filming, and Taehyung's life was different. Drastically different. Variety shows, interviews, and all kinds of brand deals— his face was on billboards along with Jeon Moonhee's literally everywhere.
