Every time Taehyung tried to talk to Jeongguk, it was as if something in the universe didn't want him to have this particular conversation with him.
He knew how busy their days were, especially since they were nearly half-way through filming and things needed to get done as soon as possible. However, after trying to chase down Jeongguk multiple times throughout the day, he swore the chaos of their schedules was amplified tenfold.
Sure, they talked during filming but he couldn't start a proper, off-screen conversation without someone whisking away him to some other activity, or losing track of where Jeongguk went (he never stayed in one place). It was frustrating, funny even. You would think, seeing that they were costars, that their work schedules would align.
And yet it didn't, forcing Taehyung to deal with the crippling weight of Yoongi's words over his shoulders, reminding him that he needed to make a choice— and that choice?
It didn't involve Jeon Jeongguk at all.
Taehyung didn't know what went wrong, really. He never went off-script, never lost sight of what he was supposed to be doing. The only reason he was here in Seattle was to film a movie, not fall for a Jeon who had no place in a future that was already determined for him the second he signed that contract.
That wasn't the plan, and Yoongi was right; he was better off making the choice he was supposed to make.
It was better to cut things off now before things would get any more complicated.
"You smell like rain," was the first thing that came to mind as Jeongguk and he stood beneath the tent, clutching blankets around their shivering bodies. It was the first time Taehyung managed to talk to him, and of course, he wasted it on a stupid question.
"Should I smell like something else?" Jeongguk asked slightly confused, staring ahead at the scene while his teeth began to chatter.
"No," Taehyung said, huddling closer to him, pulling the warm blanket closer to his frame. "I'm just trying to stay warm."
"By telling me I smell like rain?"
"Basically," Taehyung nodded.
"I don't get how that works," Jeongguk muttered, genuinely confused.
"Me either," Taehyung ignored the questioning look Jeongguk spared him; he was too cold to answer him back.
With all honesty, he didn't know what to do or say; nobody predicted that they would have to deal with this kind of weather today, and there was no way he could think properly while freezing his ass off. This was exactly where he wanted to catch Jeongguk, but not a single, coherent thought was forming in his mind.
At the moment, things on set weren't going very well either. They were supposed to be filming an outside shot, but it suddenly started to pour, and now everything was basically flooded as the crew scrambled to get both their equipment and the actors to a dry place.
