It's the Fourth of July. One of my favorite holidays. We were going over to Harley's house to cook out and hang.

This is probably my last Fourth of July here in Oklahoma. I'm gonna miss it, but I'll be making an album soon hopefully.

I get up so I can start getting ready. I can hear Kira in our musical area doing a cover so she's probably making a tik tok or YouTube video.

I put on a long sleeved, mesh shirt with a plaid dress that was tight.

The straps were spaghetti strap as I looked at myself. I went to my desk to put on makeup.

As I did, I got a FaceTime call from Owen. I answer it and prop it against the wall.

"Hey, O." He smiled when his face popped up. "Hey, whatcha doing?" He asked.

I could tell he was sitting in his bed. "I'm getting ready. Harley is having a Fourth of July cookout." I tell him.

I put my eyeliner on as he watches. "I wish I could be with you." He pouts as I look at him.

"Me too. I miss you." I tell him honestly. He scrunches his nose towards me. "That's gross." He joked as I roll my eyes.

"Asshole." I could hear him laugh over the phone. After talking on the phone while doing my makeup, I get done with it.

I stand up, leaving my phone propped, to get my phone.

"You look beautiful." I hear Owen compliment. I blush as I put on my knee high heels. "Thank you." I thank.

My door opened to show Nash coming in. He was only in his boxers. Owen looked at him questionably.

"I need your help trying to find something to wear." I shake my head knowing we had to be there soon.

"You should go wearing that." Owen joked making me laugh. "You'd like that, wouldn't you?" Nash joked.

They started messing with each other as I stood up. "You need to get ready. I'm sorry Owen but I'm gonna have to go." I frown.

He looks like he understands. "Go have fun. I'll talk to you later." We share goodbyes and get off the phone.

I turn to the half dressed male in my room and shake my head.

"Let's go see what we got." We go down to his room so I can start looking through his clothes.

I choose black skinny jeans, a white shirt, and a flannel. "You're a lifesaver." He thanked.

He started putting his clothes on as Kira came down the stairs. Kira had on high waisted jean shorts with a crop top.

"You both look hot." She complimented. When Nash got done getting ready, he got everything together and we walked out.

I don't think there's gonna be many people there but there will be a decent amount. I drove us all there and Nash sat in the back.

"You girls excited for your trip?" He asked making conversation. I'm so happy he didn't bring it up in front of Owen.

"Yeah, Owen better like it or I'll fight him." I joke as the laugh a little. "I'm just tired of you two saying you're just friends." Kira spoke up.

I bit my lip as I drove. "I'm with Kira. Y'all non stop flirt but you won't do anything." Nash pointed out.

I tried to figure out what to say. "We do not flirt. That's just how we joke around." I try to deny it.

Nash shook his head from the back. "You're such a liar. Plus the way you all joke around is flirting." I don't know why they always tease me.

"Why do you all always pick on me? What about Kira and Charlie?" I ask stopping at a red light.

"We're actually talking and we admitted our feelings to each other." Nash and I both turn to her in shock.

"When?" I ask as she giggles and blushes. "A few days ago. When we go to California, he's taking me out." She explains to us.

My mouth was hanging open in shock. I had absolutely no idea. "He better not hurt you, or I'll beat his ass." Nash threatened.

The light turned green so I started driving again. "I'm just happy you found someone, Kira. He's good for you." I really like them together.

They both have common interests and really look good together. I can tell how much he likes her by the way he looks at her.

"He makes me truly happy. Like, I didn't feel like this with my ex." It was sweet seeing her like this.

Shes my best friend, I want whats best for her. Nash leaned in the back seat while huffing.

"I really am single, aren't I?" Nash pouted while crossing his arms. We pull up to Harley's to see a bunch of cars already there.

"You'll find someone. Hell, you might find someone at the wedding." I tell him honestly.

Nash is a good looking guy, someone would be stupid if they didn't like him back. We get out of the car and head towards my sisters house.

Most of everyone was outside so we walked straight to the back yard. Kilton was grilling while Harley and Jesse were playing corn hole.

There were people by the pool drinking and other people sitting and talking.

Kilton looked at me and smiled. "You all made it! The food should be done soon." Kilton informed me.

We all made our rounds, talking to people we knew. The whole cookout slash party was super fun.

Everyone hung out for a few hours and had a good time. But around seven, we all headed to the park so we could watch the fireworks.

Kilton, Jesse, Harley, Kira, Nash, and myself all sat together in chairs or in the back of our car.

I've always loved watching the fireworks at the park. Oklahoma City throws a killer firework show.

It usually goes off for thirty minutes and the finale is usually huge.

While we waited for it to start, we thought it'll be fun to throw a frisbee.

We tossed it around for a good thirty minutes and then it got dark. We all sat back down and waited for it start.

Right at nine-twenty, they set their first firework off. We all watched it in awe.

"Oohhh. Ahhh." Nash gawked at the fireworks. They played music while they shot the fireworks off but it was faint.

As I watched, I couldn't help but wish Owen was here to enjoy this moment with me.

I know him and Charlie would be making jokes through out it. Even though Charlie gets on my nerves half the time, I miss him.

He's like the older brother I never had. Even though Owen can't be here with me, I realize we're both looking at the same sky.

At the same stars. I smiled, we were under the same sky at least.

They did the finale and the show ended causing all of us to cheer and clap.

The firework show was super good. We wait for everyone to leave, which is going to take a while.

So we grabbed our glow in the dark frisbee and started passing it around.

I could feel my face was burnt from being out in the heat all day. I'm just happy that today went super well.

By the time we all went home, I was exhausted. I took my make off, changed my outfit, and flopped on my bed.

I fell asleep thinking about Owen that night.
