thirty-two

Our first single is coming out tonight at midnight. We were having a little party at the house for it.

It's mainly just going to be our closer friends there. I was hanging out with Owen in my room. He was playing on my keyboard.

I learned how to play when I was a kid. It's one of the only other instruments I know how to play.

I don't play it much but it's fun. My door opened revealing Jesse. I sat up in bed while Owen turned to him.

"We're about to get the Battlefront tournament set up." While we wait for the single to drop, we were having a Battlefront tournament.

We nod our head and get up. We walk to the gaming room so we can set it up. We were gonna play it on the playstation four.

As we set it up, everyone came over. It was me, the band, Jeremy, Carolynn, Charlie, Owen, Kira, Nash, and Winston.

I really like Winston. He has the same kind of humor as Nash so they're super cute together.

After about an hour, we had made the bracket of who we're playing against. Harley and Carolynn weren't gonna play to watch the time.

Plus they wanted to cook so they'll be in the kitchen most of the time. Harley and Carolynn really like each other.

I can tell they've bonded since we've all hung out. The first person I was playing against was Winston.

We were doing this thing where we were on teams, one side evil and the other good, and we were gonna fight.

Which ever team won, would be going to the next round. Each round, we were going to raise the difficulty up.

So by the championship, it's going to be on the hardest difficulty and we were gonna have it set to play for thirty minutes.

Most people drink and party whenever they release a song. But not us. We have a tournament for a Star Wars fighting game.

Winston sat in front of the tv so I sat next to him. "I haven't played this game much so if you beat me, I'm cool with it." Winston laughed.

"I might go easy on you." I joke. I chose to be Darth Maul while he chose to be Luke Skywalker.

We started playing so I made sure to concentrate. After fighting for a minute or two, I see Winston attempting to fight someone.

I smile to myself and run up behind him. I hit him a couple times with my light saber causing him to die.

He drops his jaw as we all laugh. "Where the hell did you come from?" Winston laughed.

He's such a chill guy, he doesn't even care if he's losing. "Saylor cheats. I saw her screen snipe." Charlie spoke.

I quickly looked over at him. "I don't do that, asshole." He chuckled from his spot on the couch.

I ended up beating Winston, and he wasn't even mad. "I'm going to go see if they need my help with anything." Winston smiled.

He got up and walked into the kitchen. Kira and Jesse were going to play next so I moved out of the way.

I went over and sat next to Owen. He wrapped his arm around me as I scooted towards closer him.

"Good job, Cherry. But you aren't prepared to play against me." I look at him as he started to shit talk.

"Are you trash talking me?" I raise my eyebrow towards him. "One hundred percent." He laughed a little.

I roll my eyes at him as I stand up. "Our relationship is on hold for a little bit. I have to focus on whooping your ass."

I reach my hand so he can shake it. "Deal." We shook each others hands. I sat on the other side of the couch, away from Owen.

It took about forty minutes to get done with round one. Me, Owen, Charlie, Kira, Kilton, and Nash are all in the second round.

Kira and I are starting the second round. We play, which we're super into it, and I end up beating her.

"Good game." I joked as she lightly pushed my head forward. I laugh as I stand up.

We all play for a while and finally get to the championships. It was me against Owen. "Hey, foods ready so eat."

We all got up and sat in the kitchen to eat. When we were done, it was ten thirty.

"You ready to lose?" Owen asked when we walked into the gaming room. "You're going down!" I joke with him.

We sit down as everyone sits around us. I chose Kylo Ren while he chooses Rey.

We start the battle, full concentration on the game. As we played, he would try to screw me up.

"Stop touching my controller bitch." I keep my eyes on the screen. Owen was laughing his ass off next to me.

"They have such an interesting relationship." Jeremy laughed from behind me. "I know, they're always yelling at each other."

I know Harley meant jokingly yelling and not actually yelling. I just shake my head at their conversation.

As I played, I tried to look for Owen so I could fight him. But the computer people kept coming to me.

"Boy, get me out of this joint." I say out loud. They ended up shooting me dead so I shake my head.

I picked Kylo again while I waited to respawn. "You gotta be shitting me." I shake my head.

"Ew no." Owen shook his head. "You gotta be shitting in my mouth." I joke with him. I could see him make a grossed out face.

I get back in the game and start fighting. Thirty minutes later, he ended up beating me. I shook my head as I look at him.

"I hope our relationship is off hold now." He told me with a sweet smile. I scrunch my nose towards him.

"No, you beat me." I pout. He rolls his eyes. "I hate you." I know he doesn't so I just put my head on his shoulder.

For the next hour, we all hang out. We're so excited for our release. When it got closer, we had all of our phones ready to download it.

We were releasing this tonight, and our album is going to be released in November.

So we have about a month and a half until then. When it hit midnight, we all squealed.

Break My Heart, our first official single, is out on all platforms. We promoted it on all of our platforms.

We went to our YouTube to see the audio was on it. We clicked on it to watch. As we watched, I couldn't help but tear up.

We all worked so hard for this moment. So the fact it actually happened, is truly amazing.

I'm so proud of my sister and the boys. I felt Owen wrap his arm around me as we listened to it.

I quickly wipe my eyes so I wouldn't get tears on his shirt. "I'm so proud of you." Owen said in my ear.

He was rubbing my back so it made me feel good. I'm so happy I have him with me right now.

I wouldn't want someone else by my side through all of this. Owen's my person. And I wouldn't change that for anything.

I look at him with a soft expression. "Thank you for being here during all of this." I smile towards him.

He took his thumb and wiped some of my tears. "Always." He leaned in and lightly kissed my lips.

This was a beautiful moment. I have my band, my best friends, and my loving boyfriend. I have all I've ever wanted.

And I wouldn't change it for anything. If I'm feeling this grateful for just the single, I'm gonna be a mess for the album.

As long as I have Owen with me, I have everything I need.
