twenty-one

I grab my things out of Owen's Tesla since I'm spending the rest of the time with him.

"My apartment isn't much, but it's home." Owen shyly tells me. I follow him to there and I honestly loved it.

It was super cute and it had Owen's name written all over it.

I looked around to take everything in. He had a shelf in his living room with a ceramic burger on top. I chuckled as I looked at it.

"What's so funny?" He asked sitting a bag of mine down.

"What's with the burger?" I ask pointing at it. He dropped his jaw as he acted offended.

"Don't judge the burger. Do you have that?" He teased which made me giggle.

I shook my head as I sat on the couch. We spent most of the day walking around Hollywood boulevard and eating.

"I'm surprised you're not going to bar. It is your twenty first birthday after all." He sits next to me, keeping his eyes on me.

It's weird, I like him but he doesn't make me nervous. I feel like I can be myself around him and he won't judge me.

"I'd rather spend time with you." He admitted. We agreed to have a movie night so we turned on The Nun.

We got comfortable on the couch and I cuddle with him. As we cuddle on the couch, I couldn't help but think about earlier.

"Hey, Owen." I speak up. It would eat away at me if I didn't ask.

"You okay?" He questioned. I didn't know how to word it. I didn't wanna sound like I was jealous or crazy.

I thought about it for a second. And then I took a deep breath.

"Who'd you eat breakfast with this morning? You never mentioned." I think that sounded good.

"My friend, Dani. I want you to meet you her." My heart dropped to my ass.

Are they together? I sit up so I can look at him. "Oh." I speak softly. He pauses the movie as he looks at me.

He starts shaking his head as he realizes what's going on. "Dani is just a friend. We acted together in the Knight Squad." He explained.

"I want you to meet her because she's one of my closest friends. And I think you'll like her." He moved a strand of my hair.

My heartbeat was rising as he spoke. "So, you don't like her?" I whisper. He lets out a laugh as he looks at me.

"No. I like someone else." I frowned as he said that. I sigh as I hide in the couch.

I didn't wanna show him I liked him. But it hurt hearing my crush say he likes someone else.

"She's sitting right in front of me." Owen admitted. I look at him half confused.

"What?" I breathe. He looked down as he licked his lips. Am I overthinking or did he admit his feelings? No, he couldn't have.

He looked at me with his beautiful eyes. "Saylor, I like you." He admits. I could feel butterflies in my stomach.

Owen likes me. Like he actually likes me. I couldn't be happier.

"Really?" I asked smiling towards him. I could feel some happy tears weld in my eyes.

"Since Maui." He admitted. I scoot closer to him and wrap my arms around his neck.

"I like you too." I whisper in his ear. He held on tighter when I said that.

Nothing could ruin this moment right now. He pulled away so he could look me in my eyes.

"Would you do the honors of going on a date with me?" He asked making my heart flutter. "I would love too." I agree.
