Once everything was set up for the plan, (Y/n) climbed into the existal and waited for her friends to arrive.

The girl did her best to ignore the tears threatening to fall down her face.

It took awhile, but everyone had eventually gotten into the hanger. They had spotted the hydraulic press, along with Kokichi's blood. The body discovery announcement played but everyone was still silent. The musician quickly spotted Maki and Kaito among the group, the former staring at the press blankly while the latter turned away from it in grief.

Some time passed and they were given the Monokuma file. All it stated was how the victim died, not who they were.

Good, everything is going according to plan.

(Y/n) watched them talk all for awhile before Maki left, refusing to investigate with Shuichi, and Kaito followed, saying he would try to talk some sense into her.

I guess I understand why she doesn't want to help. After what happened last night, Maki probably thinks she killed me. Plus, Kaito must be torn. Since he was there when Maki shot me and Kokichi, he probably thinks the same thing as her. If they both think Maki is the culprit, then in their minds, Maki could get executed.

Keebo ended up leaving as well, saying he didn't feel very well. Himiko then announced she would be investigating by herself, promoting Tsumugi to think she thought that someone among them was the culprit.

Even more time passed, and then it was suddenly time for the trial.

This plan better work...

.

.

.

The plan didn't work.

That was one of the many thoughts rushing through (Y/n)'s head as she was electrocuted. She looked down at her friends, seeing the grief and distress on their faces.

Suddenly, the world seemed to stop.

She hadn't died yet.

But she saw something.

A smile.

A simple, amused smile.

Why was she smiling?

Weren't they supposed to be friends?

Wasn't she supposed to be distressed like the others-

Oh.

It makes sense now.

Tsumugi is the mastermind, isn't she?

It felt strange, to realize something like that at the very end.

It was frustrating.

But do you know what's even more frustrating?

The musician knew who the mastermind was.

But she was the only one who knew.

And she was about to die, leaving her friends with the one responsible for the killing game.

Is this despair?

Huh, I guess it is-
