"Shola! Shola!!" Seun barged into the living room, throwing his head from left to right as he began to make his way upstairs.
"Shola!" His heavily pounding heart caused him to pant heavily, "Ohh where is this girl?!"
Seun had enjoyed a lot of glory days and had committed a lot of crimes that he didn't have to worry about. He'd usually do things and sit back as he watched it all play out. But this time, things were different. The people he had hurt this time, their perseverance and their zeal to fight back was like nothing he had ever seen before.
Even though Shola wasn't aware of anything that was going on, she was the core of the whole battle that was happening underground, a battle that had just arrived at her doorstep.
"Shola, where are you?!"
Rushing out of the bath room and then out of her room with her towel tied on, "I am here. Why are you shouting so much?!"
"This is not the time to take your bath!" Like she knew about the chaos he had created, "Get dressed and get your passport right away."
Shocked by what her ears were transmitting, "Passport?! Are you out of your mind?!"
Seun wouldn't want Shola to get a hint that he was running away from something or that will just make her question him more.
"Listen Shola, please this is very important to my business. I need to be in Italy before morning, and you know I can't go without you..."
How convenient...
"I-I don't understand, what exactly are you talking about?"
Exactly what Seun didn't want, questions from Shola. It was only going to stall them and give the police enough time to catch up to him.
Trying to control his temper and his hurried mind, "Can you please do what I say for once without questions?... please Shola."
With an expression that Seun had seen several times in the past, one that he knew all too well, Shola turned around to go get dressed.
Seun had no idea that Samuel would be on his way down to his house, but regardless of that he had to be quick and avoid the possibility of the police meeting him at his house.
For someone that was always on the offensive, this was a total change of pace for him. His mind wasn't so sure on how to get himself out of this mess but he was certain it started with him getting out of his house and out of the country, and he knew just the people that can get him out of the country unnoticed.
"Hello... listen I have no time. Can you secure safe passage out of the country for two?" He eagerly waited for Shola in the living room.
The lady replied over the phone, "On such a quick notice, that will be very..."
Seun cut her short, "I will pay three times the price, just find a way to get us out of here now!"
"Okay sir."
The call ended with a huge sigh from Seun as he turned around with his hand on his head.
"Safe passage?" An already confused Shola just got scared of what she was hearing, "Are you running from something or someone?"
"No no... it's not like that..." Seun tried to calm her with his sweet talks again as he approached her with a touch.
Shola flinched her shoulder and moved back slowly. At the moment she was a little scared of Seun and what he might have put himself into.
"It's not like what?"
Why on earth does he have contacts with people that can make him disappear overnight?!
Shola couldn't just accept and follow him until she knew what was going on. She couldn't confide in him this time if he didn't reassure her with a good reason.
"Is a criminal after you?" Trying to hope that he wasn't the bad person in this new found drama. "Why don't you just report it to the police?"
"It's not as simple as that Shola..." Still walking closer to her.
"To call the police?! Here, I am just a speed dial away." She pulled out her phone in an attempt to call the police.
Only if she had any clue that they were the exact people that Seun was trying to run away from.
With a quick reflex, Seun slapped the phone out of Shola's hand, "Hey! Don't dare!" he shouted just before grabbing her aggressively.
"What are you doing Seun?!" She struggled to get out of his grip as he began pulling her out of the living room. "What is the meaning of this?! Leave me!!"
Shola had no idea what was going on, but indirectly to Seun, she was the reason why he was in this situation and he would not leave without her. Whether it was by consent or not.
"After all that I have done, all the people I have killed and lied to, there's no way I am going without my prize."
"Killed?! What are you talking about?! Help!!!"
Who was she kidding, they were alone in the house and the house was in a very isolated place, no one was going to hear her cry for help.
Shola continued yelling as she was dragged to the door, but her strength was not nearly enough to fight against a well built and strong man as Seun. She pulled his shirt, pinched him and did all that came to mind until she instinctively bit him on his hand, forcing him to leave her.
"Aaarrrggghhh!!!" Seun held his hand in pain as he watched Shola sprint to the door.
Shola swiftly opened it and rushed out. Even if no one was around to help her, she had to escape somehow.
Seun couldn't just allow that as he immediately shrugged off the pain of the bite and chased after her.
Why would she try to escape?! Does she know the sacrifices he had made for her? Isn't she meant to understand them all?! He deserved to own her!
Seun was not just going to let her go like that. He could get away right then if he wanted to and neither the police nor the Nigerian government would have any idea on how to find him, but he wasn't going to leave without Shola. Not after she had ruined his entire life.
"Shola!!!" He stretched his hand in an attempt to grab her after catching up to her.
But before he could get hold of her, a huge man, almost the same body size as Seun, came bumping into Seun and stopping him from catching Shola.
"Stay away from her!!!"
This voice!
Shola turned around as she felt a little relief in her heart after recognizing the voice, "Samuel!"
Going in with a hug, she jumped on Samuel and held him tight. She hadn't had the opportunity to cry as she was more focused on escaping Seun, but now she could. Her tears came gushing down like water pouring from a cliff.
"Samuel, help me!" Finally, someone she could blindly confide in no matter what, had arrived.
Her knight in shining armor had arrived and he was going to make sure to protect her.
"Hahahaha!!!" Seun got up from the fall, "Is it this one that wants to help you?! I already whooped his ass once and if I have to do it again to get you THEN SO BE IT!!" Seun made a deadly charge at Samuel.
"Come!!" Samuel charged back at Seun, leaving Shola behind him.
Hungry for revenge for the murder of his brother and all the suffering Seun had caused them, there's no way Samuel was going to lose to Seun this time.
