It was cold. The air was damp. Hungry bellies continued to growl throughout the brig. Erin wasn't sure how long it had been. Days? A week? Could it really have been that long? No. She was hungry, but not enough for it to have been a week... Right? Though, Erin felt exhausted, completely drained. Maybe it was because she was slowly losing hope that her boyfriend and her friends would save her. Maybe it really had been a week without food, water, or sunlight, and she was withering away. Whatever the reason, Erin barely had the energy to lift her heavy body off the rotting floor of her cell as shiver after shiver racked her body.
Erin heard the door to the brig open and menacing footsteps echoed down the hall through her muddled state. She mustered all the strength she had in her body to peel herself off the rotting wood, refusing to let the enemy see her in such a feeble state.
When she managed to stand on her feet with the help of the cell bars. Harry leered over at her, and Erin met his eye. She would not show him fear. No weakness.
Harry smirked at how fearless the redhead was. She had a sure-fire in her, always ready to defend and protect her friends and herself.
Erin's glare never left the pirate as he said, "Gil, tie the so-called king's hands behind his back. I'll take care of fish bait."
"Stay away from her, Harry," Ben ordered.
Ignoring Ben, Harry caressed Erin's hair and cheek with his fake hook. "Uma wants you both on the deck. Shouldn't keep her waiting."
"I can't believe we're finally getting off the island!" Gil cheered as he restrained Ben's hands.
Harry growled and rolled his eyes, but the smirk returned to his face just as soon as it disappeared. "That's right, love. We're getting the wand and breaking free of this hellhole we were forced into. Mal was willing as soon as Ben was placed on the table. No negotiation for you, however," he sneered. "Benny goes free, and you get to stay with me. Sounds like a win for everyone. Wouldn't you say, love?"
"Well, maybe not so much a win for Erin. After all, she loves Jay, and being forced to be with you is-"
"Gil!" Harry cut him off. "Take him to the deck!"
Gil's jaw snapped shut and he forced Ben out of his cell and towards the only exit/entrance to the brig. Harry and Erin never broke eye contact the entire time. But while he smirked at her with desire in his eye, she held nothing but burning hatred for him.
"Time to go, dearie," Harry said while unlocking the cell. As the door inched open, Harry grabbed Erin's arm with his fake hook and forced her into the hall. He caught her before she could stumble to the floor and gripped her tightly, forcing her out onto the deck.
The bright beams of sun pierced Erin's eyes, and she was forced to avert her gaze. She squinted through the light while trying not to fumble over her own feet as Harry's haste. When she finally took in her surroundings, she saw a whole crew bustling about, making preparations for the coming showdown. Then she saw Ben.
He was already tied up to a mast, struggling to loosen his tight bindings.
Uma was barking orders at her crew, but when she saw Harry hauling Erin into the mix, a devilish smirk played on her lips. "Well, if it isn't the hor d'oeuvre," she sneered, having fun with her little game. "Glad you could make it."
Erin clenched her jaw as Harry's grip on her tightened and Uma loomed closer. "Should have taken my offer when you had the chance, fish bait. The sharks can't wait to meet you."
The redhead's stomach churned, and she hoped that Uma couldn't see how green she felt, but judging by the growing smirk, she had. "Since you're a good swimmer- naturally- I've prepared a special treat. Gil!"
