Josie: Hydras Golden Weapon

Prologue

Waking up strapped to a mental hospital bed is fantastic. Ok, maybe I'm jumping ahead a little. Let's start when I was just a little brown hair hazel eyes 5 years old. It was a normal Fourth of July party my parents always did. They invited the whole street to come to the house for a fireworks show. Not just any show but THE show of the night. My dad always got really into it buying out most of the fireworks in Oklahoma. This was a special Fourth of July party since we had new neighbors move in. They kept to themselves and were very polite. They had a son named Zemo who was always talking like he was from another time. All these weird plans and expectations of humans? I knew he was weird, but my dad always said to be nice to everyone you meet. I don't know. Well, Zemo had found these weird vials his dad had locked away. I know what you're thinking, oh typical kids find a stash and she gets powers. You're not wrong but the process was .. well was not as wonderful as just taking some shots.

Being kids we were curious of course. Zemo must have known his dad's code because he opened it right away. There they were sitting with a lovely beam of light accenting them as if we opened the holy grail. Zemo had a wide grin, obviously concocting a plan. He then proposes we play a game. Being 5 I wasn't going to turn down a play date with my strange neighbor. He suggested we play go fish and whoever loses has to drink both vials mixed. So like a responsible 5-year-old, I played the game. As you would guess, dumb ass I lost.

Fireworks were blasting off all up in the sky while I took a wonderful mix of red and blue vials for a purple slushie. Zemo asked "how do you feel Josie? Anything happening? I don't see limbs or anything yet? Do you have an extra toe yet?!" My head started to spin from all the questions. What was going on? I couldn't speak. My mouth wouldn't form the words and my body was frozen. I could feel the burning sensation inside my body. It felt like someone was growing inside me trying to claw their way out and all I could do was stand there and take it. One tear of blood streamed from my right eye before all went black.

I woke up to screams. Not my own screams but my mom's screams. My dad was throwing something at me but I couldn't make it out. My eyes were super blurry as I try to focus on something, anything. And then I saw it. My dad was throwing water at me? I went to open my mouth only to have my mom screaming so loud I was taken back. How annoying of her to scream. I felt anger boiling up inside me. Next thing I knew my mom was floating gasping for air immediately followed by being engulfed in flames. I just remembered being in awe at how her face turned from red to purple to white. It was fascinating. She fell to the ground in a peaceful, quiet nap. Finally.

My dad starting to mumble something holding the cross he carried in his pocket. Not sure what it's out for I'm his daughter what an idiot. "You killed your mom! Josie you demon!" Demon? Me? Who does he think HE is. He cheats on my mom. He starved me some nights. HE IS THE SAINT?? Next thing I knew his head was at my feet. "That was beautiful," Zemo said. Almost forgot he was there watching the whole scene. What a freak. Then as if on cue, darkness.

So here I am strapped to a bed with a man holding a red book over me saying some dumb words. Seventeen, hydra, one blah blah blah. Wish this guy would shut up. Then a snap of his fingers my mind went completely blank and I felt pushed under. A new me emerged from the darkness. Man with the red book looked into my dead eyes "who do you serve?" To which my soulless body responded "Hydra."
