Epilogue

--A few months later--

I walked into mine and Lauren's room after putting Sam to bed.

I crawled over to Lauren, who was in bed, and slid under the covers as well. Her hair was still damp from the shower we just took.

"She asleep?" Lauren asked and put her phone on the nightstand.

I nodded. "Yeah. I think she's happy to sleep in her own bed finally." I snuggled into the covers. "I know I am."

She slid down so she wasn't sitting against the headboard any longer but her head was laying on her pillow. "I'm glad to be home." She said with a small smile.

"I can't wait for what's next." I said and closed my eyes.

"I can tell you what's next." Lauren said and I opened my eyes to look at her. "We'll get Sam into school and then she'll get to live a normal life. Then, we'll be together for a long, long, time and we'll..." She smiled then turned to the nightstand and pulled out a box. She turned back to me and continued. "And we'll get married." She opened the box and I saw the most beautiful piece of jewelry.

Tears sprung to my eyes. "Babe, I-"

She cut me off. "Look, I don't know what to say. I just know I want to spend the rest of my life with you and with Sam and we'll be one happy family. I love you both so much and I want to be there... Forever. So what do you say?" She said and bit her lip.

A tear fell and I nodded. "Yeah..." I whispered and let Lauren slide the ring on my fingers. I cupped Lauren's face in my hands and kissed her passionately. "I love you." I leaned my forehead against hers.

"I love you too." She whispered. "More than you'll ever know."

I smiled and pecked her lips multiple times. "I. Love. You. And I can't wait."

I laid my head on her chest and she drew small circles on my back. I sighed and looked at the ring that fit perfectly on my finger.

I was almost asleep when I heard the door creak open. I glanced over at the door and saw Sam's silhouette in the doorway.

"Sam?" I whispered. "What's wrong?"

She walked over to the bed. "I can't sleep mommy."

I smiled softly and picked her up, placing her in between Lauren and I. Lauren, in her sleep, turned around so her arm was placed around Sam.

Sam looked between us. "Is mami asleep?" She whispered and I nodded, kissing her head.

"Yeah baby." I put the covers over her and laid down also. "You should get some sleep too."

I felt Sam nod as she put her arms around me. "I love you mommy."

"I love you too baby."

It all started out as a little accident... But accidents aren't always bad, right?
