Lauren looked at me.

I just forced a smile and went to grab Sam. Once I got her in my arms, I walked back to them.

“Excuse me.” I whispered and slid out behind them. I let a few tears fall as I walked down the hallway.

“Ally! Wait!” I heard Lauren’s voice behind me. I stopped in my tracks. Lauren stood in front of me. “Please, let me explain.”

“You broke up with him?” I asked quietly.

She hesitated. “No, but-“

“As long as you’re his girlfriend, I’m certainly not yours.” My voice cracked and I walked past Lauren and out to the bus.

“Hey Ally.” Mila smiled at me then turned concerned. “What’s wrong?”

“Lauren’s an asshole.” I said and sniffled. “I’m going to bed.” She looked after me when I walked past her to the bunks.

I lay Sam first in the bunk and slid in after her. I felt my eyes get teary again and I took in a shaky breath.

“Mommy?” I heard Sam’s sleepy voice. “What’s wrong?”

“I’m just sad baby.” I told her.

“When I sad, you sing, so when you sad, I sing.” She smiled a tired smile at me and snuggled closer into me. I felt my heart warm up as I wrapped my arms around her. “Twinkle, twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are. Up above the world so high, like a…”

I was waiting for her to finish the song but she kept quiet. I opened my eyes and glanced at Sam who had fallen asleep.

I chuckled to myself as I kissed her forehead, falling into a light sleep.

--Lauren’s P.O.V-- 

I walked back into the dressing room where Jake was. I can’t believe I could be this stupid.

“Is everything alright?” Jake asked.

No. “Yeah, everything’s okay.” I smiled nervously. I sat on the couch and signaled him to sit beside me. “Jake, we need to talk.”

He sighed. “I knew this was coming… Look Lauren, before you say anything, I just need to…” he put his lips on mine. I slowly felt myself reciprocating the kiss. I couldn’t help but feel wrong though. His lips weren’t Ally’s. They weren’t as soft and gentle as Ally’s.

Nothing compared to Ally.

“Lauren, what happened to Ally. She w- Oh.” I heard Camila’s voice. I quickly pushed Jake off me and saw Camila with a scowl on her face. “Nevermind. I’m going to shower. Be at the bus soon.” With that she left the room.

“Jake, I’m sorry. You are a wonderful guy. Any girl would be lucky to have you. I mean, I’m so lucky to have you. You’re just not lucky to have me. I don’t appreciate you the way I should and-“

“Lauren, what are you talking about? Of course you appreciate me.”

I sighed. “Jake, I… I love someone else.”

“Oh…”

“I’m so sorry, it just happened. But you deserve someone who will love you and only you.” I rubbed his back.

He smiled sadly at me. “It’s okay. I hope that person will give you everything you need.” He kissed my cheek and stood up. “Bye Lauren.”

When he had walked out, I went to the bus. Mani, Dinah and Demi were in the lounge watching a movie so I joined them.

“Hey Lo.” Dinah said.

“Hey…” I mumbled and lay down on the couch. About ten minutes later, I heard the bus door close and I felt something hit my head. “Ouch!” I grabbed the back of my head and turned around. “What the hell Mila.”

“Don’t ‘What the hell’ me Lauren. How could you do that?! Especially to Ally!” she whisper-yelled at me.

“Look, I’m sorry! I was always going to break up with him but he was never there and I wanted to do it face to face!” I got tears in my eyes.

“What’s going on?” Demi asked and muted the TV.

“Ally and Lauren were dating while Lauren was still with Jake… and Ally didn’t know about Jake.” Mila said and crossed her arms over her chest.

“What?!” the girls screeched at the same time.

“H-how? When?” Dinah stuttered. “Wait what?”

“It doesn’t matter now. She broke up with me.” I put my head in my hands. “I was so stupid! Everything felt so right, I didn’t even realize something was so wrong.” I let out a sob. “I just love her so much.”

It was silent for a few seconds. “You need to tell Ally that.” Demi said.

“She already did.”

My head shot up and focused on the doorway where Ally stood with tears in her eyes.

I stood up and she walked towards me. “Ally…” I started.

“Shh…” She placed her arms around my neck and kissed me. I put my arms around her torso and held her tight against me.

When we broke apart I put my face in the crook of her neck. “I love you.” I inhaled her scent.

“I love you too.”
