Sam was taking a nap in the living room when Simon called us up on skype. The girls were in the kitchen so I opened the computer up and accepted the call.
“Hey Ally!” Simon said.
“Hi.” I whispered, pointing at Sam. “I’ll go get the girls.” I quickly walked to the kitchen. “Hey, girls, Simon is on skype.” They all followed me to the living room.
“So what’s up?” Dinah said to him.
“Well I just wanted to let you know that we managed to book a radio interview the day after tomorrow about Demi’s tour and she wants you guys there…”
“Sweet!” Mila said loudly. I slapped her arm and pointed at Sam, a scowl on my face. “Oops, sorry.” She whispered.
“…it’s in New York.” He continued.
“What?” I asked. “What about Sam? I can’t take her to New York.”
“Can’t someone watch her?”
“She’s shy around new people. I guess I can ask my mom.”
“Okay that’s great! So you guys will be flown out tomorrow around dinner time.”
“So soon?!” I whisper-yelled. “I have to ask my mom IF she can watch her. Then she has to pack and fly out here.”
“Here’s the plan.” Simon stated calmly. “You will ask your mom if she can come out. Demi has a private plane flying you to New York. I’ll make the plane go to Texas to pick your mom up. Then you go to the airport with Sam and you switch. Your mom takes Sam and you go on the plane. That sound good?”
I sighed. “Yeah, okay.”
“Fantastic! There will be a car to pick you up tomorrow around five! Be ready.”
“Bye Simon.”
“Bye girls”

“Girls! Are you ready?!” I yelled up the stairs. It was the day we left for New York. My mom was on the way here and we were heading to the airport. “Sam! Come here!”
I smiled as she came running. “What mommy?”
I kneeled down to her height. “We’re going to pick Nana up at the airport.” She smiled big.
“Nana’s coming!” she yelled.
“Yeah, baby. But mommy has to go away for a little while.” I said and grabbed her tiny hands. Her smile immediately faltered. “I’ll be back in two days and Nana’s gonna watch you while me and the girls are gone, okay?” she slightly nodded. I held out my arms and she walked into them. “Come on, we have to go now. Girls! Hurry, please!”
An hour later we were at the airport. I walked out with Sam’s hand in my own. We walked inside and we soon saw someone we recognized.
“Nana!” Sam yelled and ran to my mom.
“Sammy!” my mom picked her up and squeezed her tight. “Ally!”
I walked up to her and hugged her tight. “Thanks for doing this mom.”
“Anything for my two favorite girls.” She put Sam down.
“Ally it’s time to go.” Mani said to me. The girls quickly said goodbye to Sam and then moved to the side.
“I’m gonna miss you baby.” I said to Sam, my eyes tearing up.
“I’m gonna miss you, too, mommy.” She said quietly. I opened my arms and she ran into them hugging me tight, sobbing. “Do y-you ha-have to g-go?”
“I’m sorry baby but I have to.” It was hard to see because of the tears that had yet to fall. “but it’s only for two days. I’ll be back in no time.”
“I love you, mommy.”
“I love you, too, baby.” I put Sam down and stroked her cheek. “More than anything. You and Nana are going to have so much fun. I’ll see you baby.” I kissed her forehead then went to the girls.
When we were finally on the plane I closed my eyes and let the tears fall.
