5. GO DEVILS!

The next morning I woke up and dragged myself into the bathroom. The warm water loosens my stiffened muscles.

I took out a pleated skirt and a button-up shirt from my wardrobe and a pair of sneakers. I did a little bit of make-up and tie my hair into a high ponytail and walked downstairs.

I see Josh and Aunt Jenna being cosy in the living room.

"Ahem... Good morning, love birds." I tell them.

"Good morning sweetheart!" Aunt Jenna sequels and gives me a tight hug.

"I'll drop you today," Josh says as he picks up his

car keys from the table.

I was already running late today so I grabbed a packet of Cheetos and ran outside. But my first class is with Josh and he's running late with me, so no worries. Josh joins me outside in a while.

Josh is a good man. We talked about how much I love the Harry Potter series and to my surprise, he's a Potterhead too. He tells me how much he loves Aunt Jenna and wants to propose to her. He asked me to help him and after a few minutes, we agreed on a decent date night proposal. I am so excited. We reached school within minutes and I rushed into my classroom.

After the first class, I changed into my gym clothes and rushed into the gym where the cheer team gathered for practice.

"Vixens, this is Iylah, our new Vixen sister." Claire introduced me to everyone.

Everyone seems glad to meet the new vixen, except for Alex.

"Have you done cheerleading before? I don't want to waste our time training a newbie." She pulls her highlighted blue hair beside her ears and laughs.

"Well yes, that's why I'm here," I tell her.

"Let's see how you do. Vixens are you ready?"

All the vixens start cheering for me to show them some moves. They're going to decide on some moves and I've to show them. I stretched out a little bit and got ready. By that time, the whole football team gathered on the ground for the show. I understand it's really important for the team to choose its vixens wisely but, Alex is just too much. Why can't she just let me alone?

"All the best, Iylah. I know you can do this." Claire hugs me and wishes me luck.

I took my position and got ready. I can hear Masie, Claire, Liam, Jeremy, and Kaleb cheering for me.

Iylah! Iylah! Iylah!

"Let's see your flexibility. Arabesque!" Alex shouted and after her everyone started cheering for me.

I took a deep breath and started. It's easy. I hold a leg of mine and stretched it slowly, straight behind my back at a ninety-degree angle perfectly balancing on my other leg. I held that position for a moment and then relaxed. Everyone started cheering for me even louder.

The vixens one after another demanded a cartwheel, a forward roll, an aerial, and a handstand and I shocked them all. I knew that if I had to try out, I won't be messing it up but still was worried. But everything went well. I've blown Alex away and secured my place in the team. I'm officially a Vixen!

After that, we had 3-hour practice including conditioning, stunting, tumbling, jumps, and of course cheering.

I love the cheers.

After the practice, the vixens started gossiping with each other. I told Claire and Masie that I want to change back into my clothes and rushed towards the building. As I was about to reach the gateway I saw a familiar face. It's him! Mr.I-DON'T-KNOW-HIS-NAME. Is he a student here? Maybe. It looks like he's waiting for someone.

I walk over to him. He is wearing a black leather jacket over a plain white tee shirt. He looks more handsome in the daylight.

His smile is the warmest greeting I could ever think of. He walks over to me and sits on one knee.

What is he doing?
