7. CHEMISTRY.

We ordered plain coffee and some doughnuts.

'So I saw you in the field, practising and you were amazing out there,' Adrian said taking a sip from his cup.

'You saw? It was amazing. Thank you very much.' I said with a clear tone of surprise in my voice.

He thinks I was amazing out there. I didn't think of being praised by Adrian for doing cheers.

Well, I guess I am AMAZING. Yes, I am amazing.

'You did a lot of practice with those cartwheels?'

'I was in gymnastics for years and I was the captain of the cheer squad back in California so years of practice with those cartwheels.'

He started laughing softly and I joined him.

'Tell me about yourself, Adrian..'

'Oh yes. I am the quarterback but had to skip practice today 'cause I strained my shoulder but it's fine now.'

'That's great,' I squealed in excitement.

I don't know why but I became so excited after hearing he's on the team. I will be seeing him often. There's been a huge smile on Adrian's face from the second I looked at him and it didn't fade even a little. He's so cute.

'Do you like football? I mean are you into the game?' Adrian asked with curiosity.

'To be honest I know a thing or two about football. I used to cheer for the soccer team so football is new but I am a fast learner.'

' I know you'll catch it eventually.'

'So what else do you like?' Adrian asks after a pause.

'I like books. Lots and lots of books.' I told him with a soft smile on my face. 'What about you? Do you read?'

'No I don't read but I prefer hearing.'

They both burst into uncontrollable laughter. The people around them start looking at them in confusion.

'Okay, that's enough my stomach hurts,' I tell him trying to breathe.

'Breath in and out slowly.' He instructs me and does the same.

We both looked at each other inhaling and exhaling heavily and these looks on our faces made us lose control again.

"I don't even remember when was the last time I laughed so hard?" I am enjoying his company. He knows exactly what I have to say and I feel like we have chemistry, I thought looking at Adrian's piercing blue eyes. There is something about him making me like him more and more.

'Adrian? Iylah?'

Someone calls our names. A familiar voice. It's Claire. She's here with Liam. Does she know Adrian? Of course, she knows him. He goes to the same school. I look at her and there is a mixed expression of surprise, confusion, and excitement on her face. She is looking at Adrian and then at her. Liam's expression is neutral. Iylah gives him a soft friendly smile.

'There is a girl and it's her! The girl is my friend.' Claire asks Adrian surprisingly.

What just happened? I have no idea what is Claire talking about.

'Claire? What's going on?' I interrupt Claire.

'Oh, Iylah you have no idea!' She grabs my right hand and looks at Adrian, again.

'Tell her, brother.' She adds, pressing the word "brother".

Brother. Adrain is Claire's brother. He is a Hudson.

Adrian looks at me and then at Claire and Liam. He's embarrassed. I can see it on his face. The smile on his face turned into a pale static expressionless face.

'Adrian? You two are siblings?' I asked Adrian in amusement.

I like him and Claire is my friend. I don't want anything to destroy my friendship with her.

'Yes, Iylah. Claire is my sister. We're twins and she's weird,' Adrian replies with a soft but embarrassing smile and continues looking at Claire, 'Why are you here, monkey?'

'What? Don't give me that look. I am here for the coffee but forget about me what are you doing here with my best friend? Unless it's a date.'

A date. I'm on a date with my best friend's twin brother.
