10. BUTTERFLIES.

Good morning! I check my phone, it's five-thirty. I woke up pretty early today. Can't wait to see Adrian.

I have so much energy today. Without wasting any more seconds I hop into the shower.

Adrian is so nice to me. I can't believe there is someone in the world who loves me. I have already mistaken teenage attraction as love in the past, I can't do it again. I'll wait and take it slow. I won't be able to handle another heartbreak.

I feel Adrian is different. I feel free around him. I feel comfortable and safe with him. I don't know a lot about him but it feels like I've known him for ages. Being around him gives me butterflies. I like him a lot. I don't know if he's going to hurt me. I don't know if he is going to bring heaven to me. I don't know if I'm wrong, but it is what it is.

It's already seven. I hurry and get dressed in a front-slit dungaree dress. I tie my hair into a high ponytail. As I was about to take my shoes, I hear my phone buzz.

It's a text from Adrian.

* I'm here :) *

I looked down my window to see him waiting outside near the porch. I run downstairs to open the door. Aunt Jenna is in the living room working on her laptop and Josh is preparing breakfast.

"Good morning honey!" Aunt Jenna greets me. "Slow down. Watch your steps." She adds.

"Good morning aunt Jenna," I squealed.

"Breakfast?" Josh asks me taking out the milk from the refrigerator.

"Can't. Sorry," I answer opening the front door.

Adrian is standing there with a bunch of roses in his hands. He is wearing a black t-shirt with black jeans. Uff.. he looks so hot.

"I didn't know what you like, so I brought roses," he says in one breath before I could tell him to come inside.

"Well, rose is my new favorite. And daisies are my forever," I tell him smiling and blushing. "Where did you find flowers this early?"

Aww, he brought me flowers. Nobody brought me flowers before. I will keep these, forever.

"Then daisies for next time and woke up Miss. Petals. She wasn't really cherry," Adrian says in one breath smiling back at be.

"Are you gonna give those to me?"

"Oh, yes!"

I took the flowers and smelled them. They smell so fresh.

"They're beautiful. Thank you very much, Adrian. Please come inside."

We walk into the living room and I went upstairs to keep the flowers in my room. I can hear aunt Jenna and Josh are having some conversation with Adrian but couldn't hear anything. I came down and grabbed an apple and we were ready to go.

"So, where are we going?" I ask Adrian as he starts the engine.

"You'll see soon," Adrian says looking straight into my eyes. He is making me blush.

I turn on the radio to avoid saying anything stupid. Bleeding love is playing.

..They try to pull me away, but they don't know the truth
My heart's crippled by the vein that I keep on closing...

"You cut me open and I," we both started humming at the same time.

This is crazy. We both looked at each other, trying to hold our laugh.

After a second, we continue, "I keep bleeding, I keep, keep bleeding love

This is so fun. I enjoy every moment with Adrian. I just started to know him and I feel connected to him. He is perfect.

We just laughed at the coincidence all the way and within ten or twelve minutes, Adrian parks his car in the same grassland, Claire took me on the night of the meteor shower. The sky above me is clear and I can feel the humidity in the air.

Adrian holds my hand and walks me towards the woods.

"Why are we here, Adrian?" I ask him curiously.

He looks at me smiling and says nothing. He tells me to watch my steps as we hike passing rocks and bushes. Soon, we stand in front of The Grace-Falls.

The scene was absolutely breathtaking. The majestic waterfall cascaded down, its crystal-clear waters creating a soothing melody that filled the air. Surrounding the waterfall, vibrant flowers painted the landscape with a riot of colors, their sweet fragrance perfuming the air. Butterflies danced gracefully from flower to flower, adding a touch of enchantment to the scene. It'ss a magical sight that filled my heart with awe and tranquillity .

As I stood there, mesmerized by the beauty before me, I couldn't help but feel a sense of peace wash over me. The sound of the waterfall was like nature's lullaby, calming my racing thoughts and allowing me to be fully present in the moment. The flowers, in their vibrant hues, seemed to be celebrating life itself, their petals swaying gently in the breeze. And the butterflies, with their delicate wings, brought a sense of lightness and joy to the scene, as if they were dancing in harmony with the rhythm of nature. It was a scene that reminded me of the beauty and wonder that exists in the world, and I couldn't help but feel grateful to be a part of it.

I gasped in astonishment at the beauty of the waterfall. Going up the hill, we could see a rainbow forming onto the water.  The feeling of the cold breeze on the skin made me shiver a little. Adrian is looking out for me as a baby. The way he holds my hand gives me butterflies. I feel like I'm in paradise. I can hear the water swishing over the rocks.  The scent of flowers and mud gives me a serene feeling. The sound of crickets and frogs croaking nearby and scene on many colorful butterflies is everything. I can spend my whole life here.

"Isn't this beautiful?" Adrian whispers into my ears. His voice is so calm.

"It is," I answer slowly.

"Adrian," I stop for a second and  continue, "thank you very much."

Adrian just smiles and says nothing.

We took our shoes off and walked along the edge of the rocks. The cold water is so relaxing. The rays of the sun catch the water, giving it a glitter-like shine.

I tried catching a butterfly with my hands, but it flew away. Adrian holds my hand from behind and slowly instructs me to stay calm and steady. Within a blink, a butterfly sits in my hand. I jump in excitement and it flies away.

Why am I such a mess?
