We meet again. -Lachambers

"Hey girls. Where are you going?"

-(Gordie POV)-

"So Denny, I love you and I let you go" I said wiping my eyes with my hands and sniffling a bit, then i heard the grass move behind me and someone knelt doen behind me. I felt a soft, comforting hand on my shoulder and it felt like i could lean right back into it, but before i made that decision i thought i would look to see who was there. I looked and it was Chris, he was here for me so i gave the best smile i could to him before turning away again and crying in his arms and he sat down and wrapped his arms around me. We were like that for a while again and i liked being in his arms it was comforting. Especially at a time like this..

-(Chris POV)-

I held him in my arms on the grass for a while until his parents wondered where he was instead of making his dad look good by greeting people and saying how sad his is his brother is gone when he wasn't even allowed to give a speech infront of people. He had to wait until everyone had left so that he could talk to his brother.. Alone. When his mom popped out looking for him i said,

"Gordie i have to go, your mom's there and she's looking for you, see you at school Monday?"

He shook a bit as i spoke since it took him by surprise.

"Oh, Okay Chris.. Thank you for being here and yeah, Monday.." With that i gave him one ast hug and lay a light kiss on his hair, thinking nothing of it..

4 Months later

-(still Chris POV)-

It was an early late August morning. Me and Teddy were in the tree house, Gordie was on his way from his house and Vern, hell if we knew where he was, we wouldn't be surprised if he was in a ditch digging for pez on the way here. We were all getting together for thr 5th time that week, It was Tuesday. Me and Teddy were playing cards and then we heard the secret knock, it was Gordie so we let him in and he got a comic from the batman sequence. We all started talking and playing cards, all three of us. I told a joke and me and Gordie fell into laughter. I loved his laugh, he was so pure and happy..He was happy again..

" I knock

Gordie draws and gets nothing helpful. Teddy draws.." I said with cofidence and suspense to be dramatic. I layed my cards down with a follow from Teddy.

"Twenty- Nine" I said.

"Twenty- Two" he said dissapointedly.

"Piss up a rope!" Gordie says slamming his cards on the table with a thirteen. He went back into his little corner and went back to reading Batman. Teddy drew more cards out and we played a few more games before we heard a knock, not the secret knock though, we all knew it was Vern.So we let him in and and weidly for vern, he was out of breath. Vern's only ever out of breath when he ran away from Ace Merrill and my brother Eyeball. But today was different there was something that had happened, you could tell.

"Woah man you'll never believe this! Wait til you hear this!" He said panting.

"What is is Vern?" Gordie said in his soothing voice.

"Hold on, let me catch my breath..I ran all the way from my house!" He said catchng his breath and then in sync me, Gordie and Teddy started singing,

"I ran all the way home!"

"Do wah.. Do wah"Me and Gordie sang while Teddy continued

"Just to say im sorry!"

Me  and Gordie get dramatic and scot closer and give a performance kind of, "Soh-ree, soh-ree!"

After our little sing-a-long Vern seemed annoyed so we just let him speak.

"Could you guys camp out tonight, like tel your folks your camping out in my back feild?"

'Yeah sure'We all said still coming up with reasons why we couldn't but eventually agreeing then he said something that stopped me and Teddy playing cards and Gordie to not continue his comic..

"Do you guys wanna go see a dead body?"

We all stopped and he explained how he knew where a dead body was to be able to find it, turns out he was under his porch digging for his coins he buried the precious summer or something then heard his brother Billy talking about it to his friend Charlie how they had found Ray Browers when they down the Back Harlow Road. All kids or age ,other than me, had kept a pretty close eye on the Ray Browers case i guessed he went down the wrong alley at the wrong time and some gang got him, something bad like that. Turns out he went down berry picking for his mother probably got too far down and as Teddy said, 

"El Smacko!"

"Vern they would have killed you if they knew you were under there" I said, Gordie nodded.

Gordie started planning things and Vern tried to back out and when he did we all just basically peer pressured him into it. The only thing i was worried about was my dad when i got back but other wise, if Gordie was in so was i. So after that conversation we played about 3 more rounds of cards then we all split up to go home and get our blankets and canteens. After i snuck around my sleeping dad on the couch to get 4 cigarettes,one for the each of us, i i quickly ran before he would awake or Eyeball and Ace came back. I hopped on the back of a hay man's van and waited til we got to town and i saw Gordie walking down the street and said i could get off where we were.When i hopped off next to Gordie he welcomed me with a smile.

"Hey Chris!"

"Hi Gordo, how ya doing?"

"I'm fine," He said with a shrug, "What about you?"

"I'm okay, you wanna see something?"

"Yeah sure." He said and i ran down a back lane to the back of the diner and i stop us by a trash can and take a gun out of my blanket. Gordie looked shocked.

"Walking, talking jesus!Where the hell did you get a gun from Chris!"

"Hawked it out of my dad's bureau, it's a forty-five-" I evidentually said with a intersted Gordie taking it right out of my hands saying "I can see that" and making gunshot sounds.

"Is it loaded?" Gordie clicked the trigger.

"No! what do think i am?" I said then, 'BANG'

"JESUS!" We both shouted running as fast as our legs could go and i shouted,

"You did it, you did it! Gordie did it, Gordie Lachance is shooting up castle rock!!"

A waitress came out and thought it was cherry bombsso i started laughing while hopping around the corner to catch up with a not so happy Gordie. 

"You knew it was loaded!" I felt the guilt even though i truly did think it had not bullets in. I stopped me and him, put my hands on his shoulders so he would stop trying to walk away.Looked him in the eyes and told him how sorry i was and pinky swore i knew it wasn't loaded. We turned the corner giggling and i had my left arm wrapped around his shoulder, but when we urned the corner there stood Ace Merrill and my own brother Eyeball. I already dreaded what was going to happen..

"Hey girls. Where are you going?"
