Must be special

-(Chris POV)-

"Hey i'm Chris,as you know,Gordie just told you.."I said anxiously.

"Well I'm Teddy my dad is fighting in the war at the moment-"
Teddy continued talking as we were walking home but my mind shifted to thoughts about my dad and what i would go home to, my dad really hated me and my brother and after my brother got the shit beaten out of,my brother would start on me.I'm quite happy somebody has finally talked to me, this small town is really mean when you're the kid brother to Eyeball Chambers.I often get called lousy or other slurs i won't repeat.

Later on I heard gordie talking i had just realised Teddy had gone and Vern was just leaving so i snapped back into the moment and listened to what Grodie had to say,

"Me, Teddy and Vern will be going to our tree house tomorrow if you want to join us.I'm going to study for our maths test we have for going into middle school.."He stopped for a second,hesitated,"Wanna come with us?"

I reluctently said"I mean sure,but only if Teddy and Vern are okay with it."

"I'm sure they'll be fine with it even if they aren't we are studying for a math test right?"the small boy said.

"Right."

We started getting close to where i needed to go for y house and ironically it was opposite Gordie's house .I bet he lived in one of those rich people houses with a family who loves him while i lived in a sketchy area with a family that hates me..At least he doesn't get to find out where i live.

When i got in my house it was later than my dad expected,clearly seeing as he planted a big purple spot on my jaw.At least i can cover it over with my hair for going to see Gordie and his pals tomorrow.Later in the night i heard Eyeball come in my room i was guessing he was drunk from being out with Ace Merrill,it was 02:30am.I just wanted to sleep when he picked me up out of my bed and started hitting me slurring things i couldn't understand but by the look of his face it seemed our dad had already gotten to him so he was going to get t me..i'm guessing he was beat for going out drinking and being back at this time but i was getting the blame off him.I could scream as loud as i could and nobody would care,the neighbors,my dad not even random guy would stop and think 'someones screaming i should help them'.Not if your a Chambers Nobody cares.Eyeball started punching my mouth and i shrieked as he burst my lip.

"Shut the f..uck up kid!"He said as he threw me back on my bed,followed by,"You littleshit,yu deserve what you get you little asshole"

That night i curled up into a ball crying in pain,making my sobs muffled i fell asleepthinking about how i wouldn't be able to go out the next day and i would disappoint Gordie..

-(Gordie POV)-

It was Friday but today we had a day off so me and the group were going to head up to the tree house me and Denny had built back in '54.I was 7 Denny 17, of course he did all the hardworkand got lots of praise for making me it but he always included me in the little things that would make it special and since Denny couldn't really fit in it he said why not shae it with your pals and thats what i did.Now Denny isn't really around alot because he is busy studying but he will always make it to a family dinner and for breakfast so i was glad i could still be guaranteed to see him.

Me ,Teddy and Vern were heading off up to the top of Castle Rock hoping to meet Chriss either on the way or there.Chris never showed up,I was sure he just had something to do with his family or busy doing something else.Nothing to worry about we could talk on monday and maybe he will come up after school.

Throughout the day with Teddy and Vern it was fun i was doing my homework or my math test Teddy and Vern were just doing their thing.At 15:00 my brother came to take us all home in his and make sure we were getting home safe.We dropped Vern off first as his house was closest then Teddy.Of course me last because Denny lives with me still.While we were walking home he was telling me about how he was going to get this awesome knew Jeep and he drive us places and take me camping and it sounded amazing.He asked me about my day and i talked about my day then i told him abut how i made a friend and he was

"Chris Chambers" I told him.

"One of thoose Chambers kids?I don't know if thats good for you kiddo,he could be a bad influence.."He said awkwardly

"You can't tell me he will be a bad influence just because of his brother or family, you have to give everyone their own chance."I answered defensively.

"Okay kid whatever you say,is he welcome in your treehouse?"

"Of course!"I said enthusiastically.

"Well he must have given a good impression.Must be special" Denny said smiling at me as we approched the front door.
