Do better

"Farah Dowling and Rosalind abusive training fic (Farah magical unicorn haircut) broken bones, Rosalind manipulation and fake tenderness."

"Come here, let me look at you."

Moving towards Rosalind, Farah let the woman unzip her jacket and pull it off her shoulders. Gentle fingers reached under her standard, grey, T-shirt, tugging it lightly over her head, leaving her in her trousers and bra.

"Sit down."

Sitting on the edge of the bed she watched the older fairy reach for a salve in one of the small medical boxes. Rosalind walked back over and moved to sit behind her, unscrewing the tub of lavender scented cream. Her fingers began working the salve into the bruises and scars on the mind fairy's back.

"Your team could have taken them down faster. Ten burned ones in seven minutes was too slow for two specialists and two fairies."

"It was less than two a minute."

"You should all do better by now."

"We're..."

"Do be quiet Farah. You need to do better, what you all are doing is not good enough."

Sighing, the younger mind fairy nodded.

"Of course Rosalind."

"Don't pout Farah."

The elder woman pressed a kiss onto the younger's neck before placing a now closed tub of salve on their bedside table.

"Go change, you need sleep. And for heavens sakes, do fix that. It looks awful."

As the mind fairy stood in the bathroom, she looked at herself in the mirror. Her nightclothes consisted of a crop top and shorts. It was what Rosalind liked her to wear even if she didn't. She didn't like to see the scars or the bruises that covered her body and she hated seeing the possessive marks that her Rosa would leave on her skin. Was that wrong? Shouldn't she take pride in them? Rosalind certainly did, if that was what the glint in her eye each time a mark was made meant.

She grimaced as she touched her shoulder. It had come out of its socket during her training but she had been given so much to do that she hadn't had time to deal with it. Instead she had swallowed more painkillers than she should have and continued with the orders Rosalind had given her. Rosalind was right anyway, it did look awful. Wincing, she leant against the wall and gritted her teeth as she popped it back into place.

She undid her high ponytail and let her hair fall down her back, sighing as some of the tension in her head disappeared. She started running a brush through the strands of hair, gently unknotting it as she thought over their training.

Ten burned ones in seven minutes and now they had to do it in less time. She could do better, should do better. Rosalind always told her that. She wasn't doing good enough. She could step up, it wasn't her friends who were lacking after all, it was her.

Sighing, she placed her brush back back into it's holder and ran her fingers lightly through her hair. She left it down instead of tying it up. She liked to have it tied during the night so that it wouldn't be in the way, but Rosalind liked it down. Rosalind didn't like when she tied it up and would undo it so there wasn't much point in wasting time. She applied a light layer of make-up to her face to hide the bags under her eyes and the stress lines on her face. Rosa didn't like them and she didn't want to feel ugly. Rosalind told her that she didn't look attractive when she cleaned her face completely.

She walked over to the bed where Rosalind was already lying, her back to Farah. Climbing under the covers, she shifted so that she was close to the other womans body, seeking comfort from the older fairy's presence.

"Goodnight Rosalind."

A sigh sounded from the elder blonde. The woman moved away, still keeping her back turned.

"Do go to sleep, tomorrow will be a long day of training."

"Yes Rosalind."

The younger mind fairy turned over so that they were both now back to back, on either ends of the bed. She took the corner of the blanket and fiddled with it. A tear rolled down the corner of her cheek.

Rosa only did this because she loved her.

After all of this was over, after the war was won, they could be happy.

So I'm not a doctor, I have no idea if the injuries would be like that so I make no claim to actually knowing how that stuff works.

I hope you guys like this.
