Zoë was laying on Percy's bunk in the Poseidon cabin when her phone went off. She answered it.
"Hey, Zoë, can you bring the campers to the Empire State Building?"
"Why?"
"You'll see. Love you."
"Love you." Zoë said, before the call ended.
She ran outside and alerted Chiron. Within 5 minutes, the campers were armed and waiting inside the camp vans. Argus started the 1st van up and led them to the Empire State.
Percy was waiting outside, leaning against the doors. He watched as they all unloaded. Chiron came out last, using a ramp to get down.
"What's with all the sleepy people?" Conner asked.
"Hypnos. He sided with Kronos, and he's doing this. But that's not the whole reason I called you here. Follow me." Percy said, turning around and leading them into the building.
Percy led them into the elevator. They had to take 2 trips, but they all got up there. Percy led them to the edge, where they could see all of New York. A dozen speed boats filled with demigods were racing across Long Island Sound.
"Look all around the island." Percy said.
The Staten Island Ferry was sailing through the waters near Ellis Island. The deck was crowded with snake women and Hellhounds. Telkhines swam in front. If they had ropes tied from them to the ship they would look like tugboats.
About a 100 monsters were marching through the Lincoln Tunnel. There were giants wielding clubs, Cyclops, a couple of fire breathing drakons, and for shiggles, a WWII era Sherman tank.
"It seems like that all entrances and exits are blocked off, as time is slowed. All mortals on the island are asleep, leaving only us. The gods are petty pieces of shit, save Hestia, and maybe Artemis-" He was smacked by Zoë. "- Okay, Artemis as well, so don't expect any backup from them."
Percy paused to look at the invaders. He ran a headcount, and did some math. "Alright, we're going to hold Manhattan."
"Uh, Percy, Lucifer, uh, whatever you go by, Mr. Devil man, Manhattan is HUGE." Silena said.
"And we're going to hold it. If we all take a place where they are marching in, we can hold them."
Percy turned around again. "Let's assume they'll be doing a direct attack straight towards Olympus. Michael, take the Apollo cabin to the Williamsburg Bridge. Katie, you and Demeter take the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel. Do whatever you can. Poison Ivy, entirely overgrown, walls of plants, I don't care. Just keep them out. Conner you take half of the Hermes cabin, Manhattan Bridge, Travis, you and the other half, take the Brooklyn Bridge. No stopping for pillaging."
The Hermes cabin groaned.
"Silena, you and Aphrodite, to Queens Midtown Tunnel. I'm sure you'll redeem yourself."
Silena nodded in determination.
Percy turned back to look at the city. He counted, pointing at the streets he had covered. "The Holland Tunnel will be taken by the Hephaestus cabin. Traps, machinery, whatever you have to do. For Beckendorf."
"FOR BECKENDORF!" The entire cabin yelled.
"59th Street Bridge, Athena cabin, got it?"
Malcolm nodded.
"All right. Me and Zoë have cell phones. Use a random one from a sleeping civilian to call us. Then put it back. That should be enough to not pin us down. Mines (666) 666-666, and Zoë's is (666) 222-6666."
"If we see a nice phone, can we-"
"No." Percy responded curtly.
Jake Mason raised his hand. "What about the Lincoln Tunnel? No one is covering it."
Percy held up a finger, pointing at the direction of the elevators. They all turned to see a group of young girls wearing silver jackets over white shirts, camo pants, and black combat boots. Swords hung on their left, while a quiver hung on their right. A pack of white timber wolves stood at their sides.
The girl in front broke the mold. She wore a silver circlet on her forehead, and a Death to Barbie shirt. Her ears were pierced with skull earrings.
"Where were you like 5 minutes ago?" Percy asked.
"Over at camp, but you were all gone." Thalia replied.
"Alright, well, you girls will be taking the Lincoln Tunnel. Zoë, you want to take them?"
Zoë grinned, unsheathed a knife. "Gladly."
"Alright, you all know your positions. Let's pray to Dad that we succeed. Any questions?"
"Not a question, but that was hot." Zoë whispered in her husband's ear.
Percy smiled, before saying, "Any actual questions?"
Katie spoke up. "What will you be doing?"
"I'm taking care of those boats." Percy said. He then leaned back, falling off the floating mountain.
He felt the wind rush through his hair, recreating that moment from eons ago, when he had been cast out. But this time, his wings worked. He unfurled them, twisted himself so he was facing the ground, then shot off in the direction of the boats.
LINE BREAK
Percy landed in the water. He hoped his landing would be enough to disturb the river gods. Slowly, two beings began to take shape. One had telkhine-like features. The other was much more humanoid. Percy figured the left was the East River God. Which made righty over there the Hudson. .
East spoke up first. "Who are you?"
"Someone looking to make a deal."
Hudson scoffed. "What do you have that would interest us?"
Percy smirked, before taking some of the garbage in his palm, and rolled it into a ball like it was Play-Doh. He shaped it, and changed the molecules of it. He revealed his creation, a sand dollar.
"Is that a sand dollar from Poseidon?" East asked.
"Better, it's made by an Archangel. How long would a normal sand dollar keep you clean?"
"5 years."
"Well this would last you 30." Percy said.
"What do you want for it?" Hudson asked excitedly.
Percy smirked. "Just for you to sink those boats that are currently sailing across your waters. And drown the monsters."
The 2 gods instantly snapped their fingers. The boats capsized, flinging the monsters into the rivers. The monsters were pulled down to the depths, where they turned to dust as they drowned.
Percy smiled in satisfaction. He broke the sand dollar in half. A wave of freshness came from it and washed over everything. Trash disappeared, turning into salt water, with little hints of freshwater.
The two gods looked at each other and their surroundings in disbelief. They turned to Percy. "Thank you! We haven't been this clean in centuries!" East said.
"My pleasure." Percy held his hand out. They shook it one at a time.
"Enjoy gentlemen. You just made your 1st deal with the Devil." Percy said, as he floated to the top.
He got to dry land just as his phone went off. He answered it.
"Percy! Come quick, it's the Minotaur!" Michael Yew said, distressed.
A/N. I don't know what is up with me this arc. 2 chapters in one day again. I think I'm just enjoying this again. Arc 5 (including the prewriten chapters) is already longer than Arc 4.
Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it.
