Percy took a deep breath. He was waiting at the altar for Zoë. He looked at the crowd. There were demons, angels, and even some Hunters. He was pretty sure he saw his father in the crowd, but he couldn't be sure.
The music crescendoed, and his wife was walking down the aisle. She looked beautiful in her black dress. Artemis was walking her down the aisle. Turned out that she was very interested to see the vow renewal of her best lieutenant.
Artemis handed Zoë's hand to Percy, but not before whispering a threat to the groom. The couple laughed quietly. They stared at each other before the Flying Spaghetti Monster started the ceremony.
They went through the routine, sealing their vows with a kiss, before the reception.
The Devil and the Queen of Hell sat at the front, where they cut the cake. It was just as big as last time, but it went much faster. Last time, it took a week for the entire thing to be finished. This time, it was finished during the event itself.
The dance started with Percy and Zoë, since you know, they were the wedded couple. Afterwards was the Mother-son dance. This was interesting because both Sally Jackson and Goddess were there.
Sally let Goddess go first, since she was his biological mother. Though Percy could confidently say that he preferred his dance with Sally, since she was a better mother.
That wasn't the end though, as there was one more surprise. It started with people coming up to Percy and Zoë to congratulate them. The final person to do so was God himself.
"Son." God said, nodding at him.
"Dad." Percy said.
God looked a little uncomfortable. "Um, I like the universe. The hellhounds were a nice touch."
"Thank you."
God nodded. "Um. Congratulations on the marriage. And on the kid."
Percy looked at his father. Then turned to his wife. A smile took over his face as he kissed her.
END OF PERSEUS THE DISGRACED ARCHANGEL
*Final Thoughts*
So, we're at the end. It's been a ride. I started this at the beginning of the year, on January 6th. Yes, I checked. When I started this, I thought that I would never reach the end. I thought that I would keep on going forever, or that I would abandon it. Now, obviously, I hope I don't ever abandon a story, except for Watching Supernatural, which I might just skip episodes and do the ones that I want to do first.
I had a slip of paper where I would keep ideas for this story. I got most of them in here. One that didn't, was that I was going to have the manticore throw Zoë over the cliff and Percy would fly down to save her. But I decided to scrap that.
The original ending was going to be different, where Percy and Michael's fight never leaves the throne room, and God comes down to stop the fight. Then there was going to be stuff about Percy and God bonding, but that felt like it would just be stalling the ending.
How about this ending though? I know I was setting up them having a kid from the very beginning, and here it finally is. I'm thinking of including the child in The Hallway, if I ever make an actual timeline, since I don't know how that works.
So, overall, I really like this story. I think I set stuff up for payoffs pretty well. I'm pretty sure there are plot holes, but I don't think there are many, or too large. This is definitely better than We Are Venom, where I forgot I brought Zoë and Bianca back to life. (I would burn that book if it was physically here. Maybe I should copy and paste it into a google doc and then print that out to burn.
I appreciate every vote, comment and reader that has interacted with this story. I'm sure that without you people, I would have quit a long time ago. Seeing that people were enjoying this is such a surreal experience. And seeing that people loved it, I just can't believe it. I know it sounds corny, but I honestly can't believe that ACTUAL living people read this and like it.
I think that's everything I wanted to say here.
So, for the final time in this story...
Thoughts?
This is Randomrandomness12, signing off with only small ideas of what I'm doing next.
