The Dark Ember

Hollow Hope Pt 1

Mom came in and said "Girls I need you both to give a little bit of your blood so we can kill the Hollow. Hope said "We don't want to." mom said, "Are you scared it's gonna hurt?" I said "We're scared if we do this, you're gonna pick a fight. And the Hollow, she can hurt you." mom said "I know you're scared. I wish we didn't have to have this conversation. When I was your age, I had to deal with a lot of things that I didn't want to deal with either. I didn't want that for you girls, but here we are. The thing is, sometimes you have to do things that you don't want to do because you're the only one that can do them." Hope said "Like you." mom nodded "Like me." Hope and I shared a look then said "Okay."

Mom, dad, and Freya left leaving us with uncle Kol. He said, "Hey, buddy." Hope said, "Are my mom and dad back?" Kol said "Not quite. Hey, you know what I used to do when I was bored at your age? Magic." I crossed my arms and said, "We're not supposed to do magic with strangers." Kol said "What? I-I'm family." Hope said "So why did you go away?" he said "I went away because I was sad. And I thought I'd never be happy again. And I didn't want to make everybody that I loved around me sad, too." I said "What do you want?" he said, "Smart, I need you, girls, to untie this knot using magic." Hope grabbed the ball and said "If we untie this knot... your girlfriend will be free from the Hollow?" he said "I hope so." she said "And you really love her?" he said "Yes. Kind of like your mom loves, uh..." I said "Uncle Elijah." he said "You are miraculously well-adjusted. All right. Focus on the knot, loves. It's very important, and I'll be right back." he walked away and we grabbed hands and focused on unraveling the knot.

All of a sudden Hope's eyes glowed blue making me back away from the Hollow, she looked at me and said: "You know who I am Emberlyn." I said, "The Hollow, get out of my sister!" I heard footsteps and she said, "Act normal or you will die by your own sister's hand." Mom opened the door and said "Time for bed girls." we climbed in the bed and mom tucked us in and kissed our heads we said "Goodnight mommy." she said "Good night my babies." she turned off the light and shut the door leaving me alone with the Hollow." I said, "You didn't think this through very well, our parents will kill you and save Hope." she sat up and said, "And you?" I said "I will fight you every step of the way." she said, "Do you understand why I only took your sister?" I said, "Because I'm stronger than her yes, but she is good, I'm already drawn to darkness which wouldn't have been much of a challenge for you." I flipped on the light and she said "I wouldn't say a challenge after all you are only a little girl, but part of my problem is I need a host of goodness. So you the fact that you like the darkness is not allowed." 

Dad opened the door and said "I saw the light under your door. Your mother told me she tucked you in." she said "I don't like to sleep when things are happening. You woke Elijah." dad said "Yes. And he's very excited to see you both. In the morning, hmm? There's nothing to worry about anymore, okay?" I said "You didn't punish Kol." he said "Well... he's family." she grabbed my hand and said "And we protect family. Like you and mom are our protectors, right?" he said "Always and forever. Tomorrow, I'm going to show you everything I love about New Orleans. The music, the dancing, the art. After all, every princess ought to know her kingdom. Good night, my loves." he kissed our heads and she said "Good night." I said "Goodnight daddy." he shut off the light and closed the door.

The next day we were in our room and she was drawing... I don't know what. Mom came in and said "Hey, sweetie, drawing something?" the hollow said "Yes." mom said "What's that supposed to be? A snowstorm? So... now that all this trouble's behind us, I thought that we could have a chat about what happens next. I know that you want to have a normal life with friends and school and art and sports and... Hey. You okay?" she said "I'm fine." mom said "Hope, if you're worried about the Hollow, don't be. Everything's okay now, I promise." she said "Can I go back to my drawing?" mom said, "Sure, yeah." I grabbed mom's hand to stop her from leaving and said "So we can go to school?" mom said, "I think that would be a good idea." I said "Ric's school?" mom nodded and smiled and said "Yes!" mom left and I closed the door and said "Just like that you've made mom suspicious." she stopped her drawing and looked at me "How so?" I said, "One, Hope is good at art and you're not, two Hope has been dying for friends and school and for you to only care about a drawing of nothing is suspicious." 

Hope grabbed my hand and tried to hurt me, she said "Why doesn't Hope's magic work?" I said "Because of the bracelet, the only reason mine isn't on is because in this town it burns me." she pulled me downstairs and took off her bracelet and was gonna throw it in the fire when I yanked her arm as Aunt Rebekah was coming and the bracelet dropped on the floor. Aunt Rebekah said "What are you two doing?" the hollow said, "I can't be strong for my mommy and daddy if I can't do magic." Rebekah said "Hope, you don't have to protect them. We're all here to protect you. Now, let's get your bracelet..." she said "No." Rebekah said "Sweetheart, in a thousand years, our family has never been bested. There's nothing that can defeat us." the hollow said "Well, there is one thing."

The hollow dragged me to our room and stabbed my hand with a needle doing the same to hers, I tried to pull away but she connected our hands and said "Now you are linked to your twin, and I'm taking her over so, therefore, you are linked to me." I said "What was the point of that?" she said, "Whatever happens to Hope's body happens to yours, to stop you from trying anything." I said "Oh I don't have to do anything, you will destroy yourself. You're more like me, and Hope is the exact opposite of both of us. I suspect, mom already knows." the hollow said "Let's go." I sighed and followed her downstairs, Mom said "I don't care how long it takes or what I have to do, I will get my daughter back." the hollow said "You won't. Hope is still fighting, but she'll give in soon. Once this is complete, I'll be in her body permanently, and since I linked the girls if you hurt Hope you also hurt Ember. You won't hurt us. We're your daughters. You can't." Freya said "Inadu." Hope fell and I caught her and fell with her, trying to save my sister from getting hurt.

I looked at mom and aunt Freya, mom said "How long do we have?" Freya said "She's not going to be happy when she breaks through that sleep spell. This means we need to work fast, and now we also have to unlink the twins, because if their lives are that connected neither one will survive anything." Mom kneeled by us and said, "Why didn't you tell me?" I said, "Because when someone with your twin's face threatens to kill you, you tend to not tattle tell." A while later I was still with Freya and mom came in and said "Hope's still out. You think this'll work?" Freya said "The pendant was built to hold a person of Mikaelson blood. So it will hold Hope. I did my best to repair it." the hollow came in and said "Valiant effort... but Hope belongs to me. Emberlyn what did I say about telling on me?" Mom said, "Over my dead body." I said "I didn't, I told you, you would rat yourself out." the hollow said, "So be it." 

Mom said "Hope will fight you." she said "I can feel her love for you. It's a shame it's not enough. What I'm worried about is her love for you Ember, I just have to crush that, and then I have her." Vincent was in the courtyard, and the hollow laced our fingers together and dragged me down to where he was and he said "All right, she's here. You guys know what to do." the hollow said "Hello again." she was latching onto my magic using our twin bond, she said "How predictable." Elijah said "You will pay for this." she said "I've killed you once, Elijah. I won't hesitate to do so again." Marcel said "Inadu. Show yourself. What's the matter... The big, bad Hollow too scared to face me?" she said "I hide from no one. Especially not some would-be king of New Orleans."

Vincent said "That is vicious. Even for you. He must have struck a nerve. I'm sure he had a hell of a lot more to say, but it doesn't even matter, because he kept you occupied long enough for me to trap you." she said "You really think you can defeat me? You're welcome to try. But once Hope Mikaelson gives in... I will be more powerful than you can ever imagine, and with the dark Ember by my side, we will be unstoppable." Vincent said "That's not gonna happen. See, I've been communing with the Ancestors. Your mama among 'em. She gave me the spell she used to kill you, and now I'm gonna put you in your cage. Forever. Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à!" she screamed "No!" and pulled at the darkness deep inside me making me scream. Vincent said "That anger that you're feeling right now, that's called losing. Because after this you're never gonna be able to lock yourself inside of Hope Mikaelson. And once I put you inside of this book, you're never gonna be able to get out again, so Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à!" she grabbed a hold so tight I saw in her mind, I saw Hope and my dad Hope said "Ember!" and hugged me. Dad said "I'm afraid, Hope. I'm afraid, without you, I'll return to the darkness, and I won't be able to help Ember stay away from it. So I need you. I need you to fight if not for you then for me and your sister." Hope said, "I will, Daddy." 

Vincent said "Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à! Arrêter majik sa à!" the hollow said "You think you've beaten me?" Vincent said "Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à. Arrêter majik sa à." she screamed and i felt the break of his spell, using her magic as well as mine and Hope's magic she broke the book and we disappeared.
