Dear Klaus, You'd have been proud of Hope today. They're back home for summer break. I brought them out to the bayou for the crawfish boil, hoping they'd play with the other Crescent kids, but while Emmy was flirting it up with some wolf boys, Hope was gone. I found her inside at Mary's bedside, telling her stories and singing to her. Sometimes I think about all the unlikely things that led to their existence -- you and I born a thousand years apart and all of the petty crap that brought us to that one night in Mystic Falls. It's been hard ... but the truth is, I watch her curled up next to that dying woman, her sister laughing, dancing, and singing away at the party and I knew I wouldn't change a thing. In all my life, I've never felt lucky before them. Anyway. We miss you. Hayley.

I smiled of course Emmy was trying to get all the boys, Hope doesn't like to party as Em does.

Dear Klaus, Emmy is bouncing back from Kol saving her, I wish you had answered when any of us tried to call you. This isn't how I wanted to tell you, Kol had to save our little 10-year-old girl from killing herself. She slit her wrists in the bathtub, she says so we didn't have to clean up her blood when she was gone. How do I fix what happened to you three if none of you will tell me what happened? Hope was brave, she called everyone she knew, Freya and I were negligent and I live with that guilt every day. We should have answered Hope's call but I wanted a minute to myself without daughters crying for their dad and Freya's insistent hollow talk. My phone was on silent and now it will never be on silent again. You didn't see her there laying on the floor, Kol's wrist in her mouth, her blood pouring from her tiny wrists, her body pale and lifeless. I felt like we have failed her at that moment. I didn't think my heart could break anymore until she said she was trying to off herself to make our lives better. Between Kol, Freya, Marcel, and I, I think we explained why she could never hurt herself again. Made her understand the consequences we all would face with her actions. We need you. Hayley.

My heart broke reading that she tried to kill herself, she has been hurting a long time, if this happened when she was 10.

Dear Klaus, They are 12 years old now, Hope is a reader, she reads everything from spell books to cookbooks. if it has words she reads it. Emmy is the complete opposite of her sister, I always thought twins would be similar, but honestly, unless you knew them and their birthdays... You wouldn't know they were twins, at least not by how they act or look. Hope is strong, independent, smart, and wants to keep to herself, she doesn't have friends in school, says she doesn't have time for meaningless friends. Ember is a shining star, she is strong, but she is very dependent on people, she is a perfectionist which is part of her problem a few years ago, she is smart, and oh god is she a social butterfly, she talks to everyone and everyone loves her. She had her first kiss at their birthday party last night, which took me by surprise. I thought for sure we'd have more time before crushes entered the battlefield. I went to her room to find her since she disappeared and there she was on her bed kissing a boy, I about had a fit, I was kind of glad you weren't here, she wouldn't have liked when you murdered him. I wasn't gonna step in, I figured she is 12 a little kiss wouldn't hurt, I put a stop to it when he grabbed her shirt and she didn't stop him. Hope has no thoughts of boys, always says who needs boys when Em has enough boys by herself. We love you. Hayley.

I am so glad Hayley stepped in, she is correct in that I would have killed the boy who dared touch my daughter.

Dear Klaus another bad one, but you're not answering your phone and you need to know what your daughters are up against when you see them again. You need to know how to deal with them and their traumas. Hope is simple so far, she just misses her daddy. Emmy has taken missing you to a whole new level, she has daddy issues for sure. Marcel saved her this time, not that she wanted to be saved and no she did not try and kill herself again. Instead Marcel caught your 13-year-old daughter drunk, she was in a bad part of town, with some much older guys, Marcel said they had to be in their 20's at the earliest. I've never seen Marcel so mad, especially at Emmy. He caught her screwing the men, according to her she said it's not like anyone cares what she does as long as she is alive. I thought Marcel was gonna beat her ass that day, he didn't of course, but man was he pissed and so was i. He slaughtered every one of them after ripping off their genitals while they were awake. Hope was at home researching how to destroy the hollow while Em was researching how to destroy herself. You have got to call me, Klaus, I don't know what to do with her. At school, she is a perfect angel but... Freya, Marcel, and I are at a loss. Freya tried to bind her to the compound but she is stronger than Freya since she has that darkness, which the school is teaching her how to harness. She gets out every time, Hope says she wants attention, so we tried to give her more attention, Marcel said it has to be your attention she is acting out for. Call Me Klaus I'm desperate. Hayley.

 I felt guilty for being the reason my daughter was hurting herself. If only I had answered a call or text.

Dear Klaus, you would be so proud of both your daughters, which I know is hard to believe seeing as the track record Ember has been on but. Today they did good, they asked to go to the bayou and once we got there they immediately started to spend time with and care for the sick and old. Emmy said "She finally understood what we have been saying and that it wasn't that you didn't love them it was that you loved them so much you had to stay away to protect them, you still can call though. Hope said "Declan talked to her made her understand that even if people aren't with you it doesn't mean they don't love you. Kol also talked to her, we reached out to him since you can't be bothered to answer a phone. Kol and Davina explained the magical point of it all and it seems to really get stuck in her head, they have taken to FaceTimeing her every day, they ask her about homework, Davina asks about boys, Kol threatens boys, and they ask her about her dreams, askes her what she would do if we managed to destroy the hollow for good, which she replied to see them and of course go on a big adventure with Hope to find their dad. Kol told them that wouldn't happen because if the Hollow was destroyed you'd find them before they could think of finding you. We love and miss you. Hayley

I smiled, of course, I would find them, I am glad she seemed to get her head on straight, and it seems I owe Kol, Davina, Marcel, and Freya a thank you for protecting my girls. I found some frames and framed every picture Hayley had with each letter of my daughters growing up.
