Today was Louis' first day in year 11.

His homeroom teacher, Miss Laura, had put them into groups so they'd get to know each other better.

Thomas Clark was in Louis' group, though, so he tried not to say anything to attract his attention.

He always told Louis he was weird, that he had to "man up" and choose a gender, the "correct" gender. He said there was no such thing as a female boy.

That's what Louis had started identifying himself as once he started secondary school. It's confusing to others, but he understood it.

He's a boy. He knows he is, he feels like one.

But he's a female boy.

It's a strange concept, but it can't be that odd since Louis' aunt Kathy says she knows an engineer at her work kind of like that, and that he's got a good career and he's married and he's successful.

So Thomas can stick it up his ass.
